۔ محمد بن مثنیٰ نے کہا : میں نے عبد الرحمن بن مہدی سے سنا ، کہہ رہے تھے : آدمی اس وقت تک امام نہیں بن سکتا کہ لوگ اس کی اقتداء کریں یہاں تک کہ وہ سنی سنائی بعض باتوں ( کو بیان کرنے ) سے باز آ جائے ۔
