قَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّۖ لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنۡ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭ بِهَٰذَآۚ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٦٨
They1 have said, "Allāh has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority2 for this [claim]. Do you say about Allāh that which you do not know?

Commentary on 10:68
٦٨ – ﴿قَالُواْ﴾ أي : اليهود – الذين قالوا : عزير ابن الله – والنصارى – الذين قالوا : المسيح ابن الله – ومشركو العرب – الذين زعموا أن الملائكة بنات الله-. ﴿ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗاۗ﴾ قال تعالى لهم – منزها نفسه الكريمة عن بهتهم- : ﴿سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ﴾ تنزيها له تعالى وتقديسا ، عما نسبوه إليه من الولد، إنما ﴿هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّۖ﴾ عن كل ما سواه، وكل شيء فقير إليه محتاج إليه ، كقوله : (يا أيها الناس أنتم الفقراء إلى الله والله هو الغني الحميد)فاطر (١٥). ﴿لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ﴾ ملكا و خلقا وعبيدا و تصريفا وتدبيرا، فكل شيء فيهما مخلوق له، مملوك له ، وعبد له . ﴿إِنۡ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭ بِهَٰذَآۚ﴾ أي : ما عندكم من حجة وبرهان بهذا القول والزعم من اتخاذه تعالى ولدا، إنما هو الكذب والبهتان. ﴿أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ﴾ حقيقته، فإن ذلك من أعظم المحرمات. و الاستفهام للإنكار عليهم . وفيه تهديد شديد، ووعيد أكيد ، لمن قال على الله بغير علم . ومثله قوله (وقالوا اتخذ الرحمن ولدا ٨٨ لقد جئتم شيئا إدّا ٨٩) مريم(٨٨-٨٩).

10:62
أَلَآ إِنَّ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ ٦٢
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allāh there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve -
10:63
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ ٦٣
Those who believed and were fearing Allāh.
10:64
لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ لَا تَبۡدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ٦٤
For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words [i.e., decrees] of Allāh. That is what is the great attainment.
10:65
وَلَا يَحۡزُنكَ قَوۡلُهُمۡۘ إِنَّ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًاۚ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٦٥
And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allāh entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
10:66
أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ شُرَكَآءَۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَخۡرُصُونَ ٦٦
Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than Allāh do not [actually] follow [His] "partners." They follow not except assumption, and they are not but misjudging.
10:67
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ لِتَسۡكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبۡصِرًاۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَسۡمَعُونَ ٦٧
It is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight.1 Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.

10:69
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ لَا يُفۡلِحُونَ ٦٩
Say, "Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed."
10:70
مَتَٰعٞ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا ثُمَّ إِلَيۡنَا مَرۡجِعُهُمۡ ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلشَّدِيدَ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡفُرُونَ ٧٠
[For them is brief] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment because they used to disbelieve.
