ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِمۡ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِمَا كَذَّبُواْ بِهِۦ مِن قَبۡلُۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَطۡبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ ٧٤
Then We sent after him messengers to their peoples, and they came to them with clear proofs. But they were not to believe in that which they had denied before.1 Thus We seal over the hearts of the transgressors.

Commentary on 10:74
﴿ثم بعثنا من بعده رسلا إلى قومهم﴾: عطف على قصة نوح، وبعثنا: فعل وفاعل، و﴿من بعده﴾ جار ومجرور متعلقان بمحذوف حال، ورسلًا مفعول به، وإلى قومهم جار ومجرور متعلقان بمحذوف صفة.
﴿فجاءوهم بالبينات فما كانوا ليؤمنوا بما كذبوا به من قبل﴾: الفاء عاطفة، وجاءوهم فعل وفاعل ومفعول به، وبالبينات جار ومجرور متعلقان بجاءوهم، والفاء عاطفة، وما نافية، وكانوا فعل ماض ناقص ناسخ، والواو اسمها، واللام لام الجحود، ويؤمنوا منصوب بأن مضمرة بعدها، واللام ومدخولها متعلقان بمحذوف خبر كان، و﴿بما﴾ جار ومجرور متعلقان بيؤمنوا، وجملة كذبوا صلة ﴿ما﴾ لا محل لها من الإعراب، وبه جار ومجرور متعلقان بكذبوا، و﴿من قبل﴾ جار ومجرور متعلقان بمحذوف حال، وبنيت على الضم لانقطاعها عن الإضافة لفظًا لا معنى.
﴿كذلك نطبع على قلوب المعتدين﴾: ﴿كذلك﴾ الكاف: اسم بمعنى مثل مبني على الفتح في محل نصب صفة لمصدر محذوف، والتقدير: طبعًا مثلَ ذلك الطبع نطبع على قلوب المعتدين، وذلك: ﴿ذا﴾ اسم إشارة في محل جر مضاف إليه، واللام للبعد، والكاف حرف خطاب، و﴿على قلوب﴾ جار ومجرور متعلقان بـ﴿نطبع﴾، و﴿المعتدين﴾ مضاف إليه.

10:71
۞ وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ نُوحٍ إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيۡكُم مَّقَامِي وَتَذۡكِيرِي بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُ فَأَجۡمِعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَكُمۡ وَشُرَكَآءَكُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُنۡ أَمۡرُكُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غُمَّةٗ ثُمَّ ٱقۡضُوٓاْ إِلَيَّ وَلَا تُنظِرُونِ ٧١
And recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, "O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allāh has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allāh. So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you.1 Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite.

10:72
فَإِن تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ فَمَا سَأَلۡتُكُم مِّنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ٧٢
And if you turn away [from my advice] - then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allāh, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]."
10:73
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ خَلَٰٓئِفَ وَأَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَاۖ فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ ٧٣
And they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship and made them successors, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned.
10:74

10:75
ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ وَكَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا مُّجۡرِمِينَ ٧٥
Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people.
10:76
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِنۡ عِندِنَا قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٧٦
So when there came to them the truth from Us, they said, "Indeed, this is obvious magic."
10:77
قَالَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَتَقُولُونَ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَكُمۡۖ أَسِحۡرٌ هَٰذَا وَلَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلسَّٰحِرُونَ ٧٧
Moses said, "Do you say [thus] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed."
10:78
قَالُوٓاْ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَلۡفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا نَحۡنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٧٨
They said, "Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you."
