۞ أَفَلَا يَعۡلَمُ إِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِي ٱلۡقُبُورِ ٩
But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

Commentary on 100:9–10
﴿أفَلا يَعْلَمُ إذا بُعْثِرَ ما في القُبُورِ﴾ ﴿وحُصِّلَ ما في الصُّدُورِ﴾
فُرِّعَ عَلى الإخْبارِ بِكُنُودِ الإنْسانِ وشُحِّهِ اسْتِفْهامٌ إنْكارِيٌّ عَنْ عَدَمِ عِلْمِ الإنْسانِ بِوَقْتِ بَعْثَرَةِ ما في القُبُورِ وتَحْصِيلِ ما في الصُّدُورِ، فَإنَّهُ أمْرٌ عَجِيبٌ كَيْفَ يَغْفُلُ عَنْهُ الإنْسانُ. وهَمْزَةُ الِاسْتِفْهامِ قُدِّمَتْ عَلى فاءِ التَّعْرِيفِ؛ لِأنَّ للِاسْتِفْهامَ صَدْرَ الكَلامِ.
وانْتَصَبَ (إذا) عَلى الظَّرْفِيَّةِ لِمَفْعُولِ (يَعْلَمُ) المَحْذُوفِ اقْتِصارًا، لِيَذْهَبَ السّامِعُ في تَقْدِيرِهِ كُلَّ مَذْهَبٍ مُمْكِنٍ قَصْدًا لِلتَّهْوِيلِ.
والمَعْنى: ألا يَعْلَمُ العَذابَ جَزاءً لَهُ عَلى ما في كُنُودِهِ وبُخْلِهِ مِن جِنايَةٍ مُتَفاوِتَةِ المِقْدارِ إلى حَدِّ إيجابِ الخُلُودِ في النّارِ.
وحُذِفَ مَفْعُولا (يَعْلَمُ) ولا دَلِيلَ في اللَّفْظِ عَلى تَعْيِينِ تَقْدِيرِهِما، فَيُوكَلُ إلى السّامِعِ تَقْدِيرُ ما يَقْتَضِيهِ المَقامُ مِنَ الوَعِيدِ والتَّهْوِيلِ، ويُسَمّى هَذا الحَذْفُ عِنْدَ النُّحاةِ الحَذْفَ الِاقْتِصارِيَّ، وحَذْفُ كِلا المَفْعُولَيْنِ اقْتِصارًا جائِزٌ عِنْدَ جُمْهُورِ النُّحاةِ، وهو التَّحْقِيقُ وإنْ كانَ سِيبَوَيْهِ يَمْنَعُهُ.
وبُعْثِرَ: مَعْناهُ قُلِبَ مِن سُفْلٍ إلى عُلُوٍّ، والمُرادُ بِهِ إحْياءُ ما في القُبُورِ مِنَ الأمْواتِ الكامِلَةِ الأجْسادِ أوْ أجْزائِها، وتَقَدَّمَ بَيانُهُ عِنْدَ قَوْلِهِ تَعالى: ﴿إذا القُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ﴾ [الإنفطار: ٤] في سُورَةِ الِانْفِطارِ.
وحُصِّلَ: جُمِعَ وأُحْصِيَ. وما في الصُّدُورِ: هو ما في النُّفُوسِ مِن ضَمائِرَ وأخْلاقٍ، أيْ: جُمِعَ عَدُّهُ والحِسابُ عَلَيْهِ.

98:8
جَزَآؤُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ جَنَّٰتُ عَدۡنٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ رَّضِيَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنۡ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُۥ ٨
Their reward with their Lord will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allāh being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.
سورة الزلزلة
Az-Zalzalah
The Earthquake · Medinan · 8 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
99:1
إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا ١
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake
99:2
وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا ٢
And the earth discharges its burdens1

99:3
وَقَالَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا ٣
And man says,1 "What is [wrong] with it?" -

99:4
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُحَدِّثُ أَخۡبَارَهَا ٤
That Day, it will report its news
99:5
بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوۡحَىٰ لَهَا ٥
Because your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it.
99:6
يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَصۡدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشۡتَاتٗا لِّيُرَوۡاْ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ ٦
That Day, the people will depart1 separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

99:7
فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ ٧
So whoever does an atom's weight1 of good will see it,

99:8
وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖ شَرّٗا يَرَهُۥ ٨
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
سورة العاديات
Al-'Adiyat

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
100:1
وَٱلۡعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبۡحٗا ١
By the racers, panting,1

100:2
فَٱلۡمُورِيَٰتِ قَدۡحٗا ٢
And the producers of sparks [when] striking1

فَٱلۡمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبۡحٗا ٣
And the chargers at dawn,1

100:4
فَأَثَرۡنَ بِهِۦ نَقۡعٗا ٤
Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,
100:5
فَوَسَطۡنَ بِهِۦ جَمۡعًا ٥
Arriving thereby in the center1 collectively,

100:6
إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٞ ٦
Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.
100:7
وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٞ ٧
And indeed, he is to that a witness.1

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ٨
And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.
100:9
۞ أَفَلَا يَعۡلَمُ إِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِي ٱلۡقُبُورِ ٩
But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered
