بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-Ma'un 107:3

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ ٣
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

﴿ولا يَحُضُّ﴾ أيْ: ولا يَبْعَثُ أحَدًا مَن أهْلِهِ وغَيْرِهِمْ مِنَ المُوسِرِينَ ﴿عَلى طَعامِ المِسْكِينِ﴾ أيْ بَذْلِ طَعامِ المِسْكِينِ وهو ما يُتَناوَلُ مِنَ الغِذاءِ، والتَّعْبِيرُ بِالطَّعامِ دُونَ الإطْعامِ مَعَ احْتِياجِهِ لِتَقْدِيرِ المُضافِ كَما أشَرْنا إلَيْهِ لِلْإشْعارِ بِأنَّ المِسْكِينَ كَأنَّهُ مالِكٌ لِما يُعْطى لَهُ كَما في قَوْلِهِ تَعالى: ﴿وفِي أمْوالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِلسّائِلِ والمَحْرُومِ﴾ فَهو بَيانٌ لِشِدَّةِ الِاسْتِحْقاقِ. وفِيهِ إشارَةٌ لِلنَّهْيِ عَنِ الِامْتِنانِ. وقِيلَ: الطَّعامُ هُنا بِمَعْنى الإطْعامِ وكَلامُ الرّاغِبِ مُحْتَمِلٌ لِذَلِكَ فَلا يَحْتاجُ إلى تَقْدِيرٍ لِمُضافٍ. وقَرَأ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعالى عَنْهُما: «لا يَحاضُّ» مُضارِعَ حاضَضْتُ وهَذِهِ الجُمْلَةُ عَطْفٌ عَلى جُمْلَةِ الصِّلَةِ داخِلَةٌ مَعَها في حَيِّزِ التَّعْرِيفِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِ، فَيَكُونُ سُبْحانَهُ وتَعالى قَدْ جَعَلَ عَلامَتَهُ الإقْدامَ عَلى إيذاءِ الضَّعِيفِ وعَدَمِ بَذْلِ المَعْرُوفِ عَلى مَعْنى أنَّ ذَلِكَ مِن شَأْنِهِ ولَوازِمِ جِنْسِهِ.

Quraysh
Quraysh · Meccan · 4 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
106:1
لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ١
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh1 -

- i.e., the honor and reputation Allāh had given them as guardians of the Holy Kaʿbah, which allowed them to travel without fear of being harmed. ↩
106:2
إِۦلَٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ ٢
Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer1 -

- i.e., the trading caravans that traveled south in winter and north in summer. ↩
106:3
فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٣
Let them worship the Lord of this House,1

ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٖ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ ٤
Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.
سورة الماعون
Al-Ma'un

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
107:1
أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ ١
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
107:2
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ ٢
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
107:3
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ ٣
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
107:4
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ ٤
So woe to those who pray
107:5
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ ٥
[But] who are heedless of their prayer1 -

- i.e., the hypocrites who are unconcerned if they miss prayers when no one sees them. ↩
107:6
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ ٦
Those who make show [of their deeds]
107:7
وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ ٧
And withhold [simple] assistance.
سورة الكوثر
Al-Kawthar
The Abundance · Meccan · 3 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
108:1
إِنَّآ أَعۡطَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡكَوۡثَرَ ١
Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muḥammad], al-Kawthar.
108:2
فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنۡحَرۡ ٢
So pray to your Lord and offer sacrifice [to Him alone].
108:3
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ ٣
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.1
