بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

الٓمٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ وَٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ١
Alif, Lām, Meem, Rā.1 These are the verses of the Book; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.

Commentary on 13:1
الٓـمّٓرٰ، یہ آیتیں ہیں کتاب کی اور وہ جو نازل کیا گیا آپ کی طرف آپ کے رب کی طرف سے، حق ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں ایمان لاتے (1)
(شروع ) اللہ کے نام سے جو نہایت مہربان رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
[1] اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ آگاہ فرماتا ہے کہ یہ قرآن، کتاب اللہ کی آیات ہیں جو دین کے اصول و فروع میں ہر اس چیز کی طرف راہنمائی کرتی ہیں جس کے بندے محتاج ہیں اور یہ قرآن جو رسول اللہﷺ پر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے اتارا گیا وہ واضح حق ہے کیونکہ اس کی خبریں صدق پر مبنی اور اس کے اوامر و نواہی سراسر عدل ہیں اور قطعی دلائل و براہین ان کی تائید کرتے ہیں ۔ جو کوئی اس کے علم کی طرف متوجہ ہوتا ہے وہی حقیقی اہل علم میں شمار ہوتا ہے اور اس کا علم اس کے لیے عمل کا موجب بنتا ہے۔ ﴿ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَؔ﴾ ’’لیکن اکثر لوگ ایمان نہیں لاتے۔‘‘ یعنی اکثر لوگ یا تو اپنی جہالت، اس سے روگردانی اور اس کی طرف عدم توجہ کی بناء پر یا محض عناد اور ظلم کی و جہ سے، اس قرآن پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے۔ بنا بریں اکثر لوگ اس سے فائدہ نہیں اٹھاتے، اس کی و جہ اس سبب کا معدوم ہونا ہے جو فائدہ اٹھانے کا موجب ہے۔

13:1

13:2
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمۡ تُوقِنُونَ ٢
It is Allāh who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne1 and made subject2 the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain.
13:3
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي مَدَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٣
And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
13:4
وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قِطَعٞ مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞ وَجَنَّٰتٞ مِّنۡ أَعۡنَٰبٖ وَزَرۡعٞ وَنَخِيلٞ صِنۡوَانٞ وَغَيۡرُ صِنۡوَانٖ يُسۡقَىٰ بِمَآءٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعۡضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فِي ٱلۡأُكُلِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ ٤
And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise,1 watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.

13:5
۞ وَإِن تَعۡجَبۡ فَعَجَبٞ قَوۡلُهُمۡ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ٥
And if you are astonished,1 [O Muḥammad] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?" Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles2 upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
