ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمۡ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ ٥٤
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord

القَوْلُ في تَأْوِيلِ قَوْلِهِ تَعالى:
[٥٢-٥٥] ﴿ولَهُ ما في السَّماواتِ والأرْضِ ولَهُ الدِّينُ واصِبًا أفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ﴾ ﴿وما بِكم مِن نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ إذا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإلَيْهِ تَجْأرُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٣] ﴿ثُمَّ إذا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنْكم إذا فَرِيقٌ مِنكم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٤] ﴿لِيَكْفُرُوا بِما آتَيْناهم فَتَمَتَّعُوا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٥] .
﴿ولَهُ ما في السَّماواتِ والأرْضِ﴾ مَعْطُوفٌ عَلى قَوْلِهِ: ﴿إنَّما هو إلَهٌ واحِدٌ﴾ [النحل: ٥١] أوْ عَلى الخَبَرِ، أوْ مُسْتَأْنَفٌ ﴿ولَهُ الدِّينُ واصِبًا﴾ أيِ: العِبادَةُ لازِمَةً لَهُ وحْدَهُ. ولُزُومُها لَهُ يُنافِي خَوْفَ الغَيْرِ؛ إذْ يَقْتَضِي تَخْصِيصَهُ تَعالى بِالرَّهْبَةِ والخَشْيَةِ، وهَذا كَقَوْلِهِ: ﴿أفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ ولَهُ أسْلَمَ مَن في السَّماواتِ والأرْضِ طَوْعًا وكَرْهًا وإلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٨٣]
﴿أفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ﴾ أيْ: وهو مالِكُ النَّفْعِ والضُّرِّ. ٥٠ ﴿وما بِكم مِن نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ﴾ [النحل: ٥٣] أيْ فَمِن فَضْلِهِ وإحْسانِهِ: ﴿ثُمَّ إذا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإلَيْهِ تَجْأرُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٣] أيْ: لا تَتَضَرَّعُونَ إلّا إلَيْهِ؛ لِعِلْمِكم أنَّهُ لا يَقْدِرُ عَلى كَشْفِهِ إلّا هو سُبْحانَهُ. والجُؤارُ: رَفْعُ الصَّوْتِ. يُقالُ: جَأرَ إذا أفْرَطَ في الدُّعاءِ والتَّضَرُّعِ، وأصْلُهُ صِياحُ الوَحْشِ.
﴿ثُمَّ إذا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنْكم إذا فَرِيقٌ مِنكم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٤] أيْ: بِنِسْبَةِ النِّعْمَةِ إلى غَيْرِهِ ورُؤْيَتِها مِنهُ. وكَذا بِنِسْبَةِ الضُّرِّ إلى الغَيْرِ، وإحالَةِ الذَّنْبِ في ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ، (p-٣٨١٨)والِاسْتِعانَةِ في رَفْعِهِ بِهِ. وذَلِكَ هو كُفْرانُ النِّعْمَةِ، والغَفْلَةُ عَنِ المُنْعِمِ المُشارِ إلَيْهِما بِقَوْلِهِ:
﴿لِيَكْفُرُوا بِما آتَيْناهُمْ﴾ [النحل: ٥٥] أيْ: مِن نِعْمَةِ الكَشْفِ عَنْهم. واللّامُ لِلْعاقِبَةِ والصَّيْرُورَةِ: ﴿فَتَمَتَّعُوا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ﴾ [النحل: ٥٥] أيْ: وبالَ ذَلِكَ الكُفْرِ. وفِيهِ إشْعارٌ بِشِدَّةِ الوَعِيدِ، وأنَّهُ إنَّما يُعْلَمُ بِالمُشاهَدَةِ، ولا يُمْكِنُ وصْفُهُ، فَلِذا أُبْهِمَ.
ولِلْقاشانِيِّ وجْهٌ آخَرُ، قالَ: أوْ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ، بِظُهُورِ التَّوْحِيدِ، أنْ لا تَأْثِيرَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ في شَيْءٍ.

16:43
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٤٣
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.
16:44
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٤٤
[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message [i.e., the Qur’ān] that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.
16:45
أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ ٤٥
Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allāh will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive?
16:46
أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ ٤٦
Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity, and they could not cause failure [i.e., escape from Him]?
16:47
أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ ٤٧
Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]?1 But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.2
16:48
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ ٤٨
Have they not considered what things Allāh has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allāh, while they [i.e., those creations] are humble.
16:49
وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ٤٩
And to Allāh prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant.
16:50
يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩ ٥٠
They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.
16:51
۞ وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ ٥١
And Allāh has said, "Do not take for yourselves two1 deities. He [i.e., Allāh] is but one God, so fear only Me."

16:52
وَلَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًاۚ أَفَغَيۡرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ ٥٢
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allāh that you fear?
16:53
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعۡمَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيۡهِ تَجۡـَٔرُونَ ٥٣
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allāh. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.
16:54
