An-Nahl 16:79

أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٖ فِي جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٧٩
Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allāh. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

Commentary on 16:78–79
﴿وَاللَّهُ﴾ والواو استئنافية ولفظ الجلالة مبتدأ والجملة مستأنفة ﴿أَخْرَجَكُمْ﴾ ماض ومفعوله وفاعله مستتر والجملة خبر ﴿مِنْ بُطُونِ﴾ متعلقان بأخرجكم ﴿أُمَّهاتِكُمْ﴾ مضاف إليه والكاف مضاف إليه ﴿لا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾ لا نافية ومضارع مرفوع بثبوت النون والواو فاعل والجملة حالية ﴿شَيْئاً﴾ مفعول به ﴿وَجَعَلَ﴾ ماض فاعله مستتر والجملة معطوفة ﴿لَكُمُ﴾ متعلقان بجعل ﴿السَّمْعَ﴾ مفعول به ﴿وَالْأَبْصارَ﴾ معطوف على السمع ﴿وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ﴾ معطوف أيضا ﴿لَعَلَّكُمْ﴾ لعل واسمها ﴿تَشْكُرُونَ﴾ مضارع مرفوع بثبوت النون والواو فاعل والجملة خبر ﴿أَلَمْ﴾ الهمزة للاستفهام ولم جازمة ﴿يَرَوْا﴾ مضارع مجزوم بحذف النون والواو فاعل والجملة مستأنفة ﴿إِلَى الطَّيْرِ﴾ متعلقان بيروا ﴿مُسَخَّراتٍ﴾ حال منصوبة بالكسرة نيابة عن الفتحة لأنه جمع مؤنث سالم ﴿فِي جَوِّ﴾ متعلقان بمسخرات ﴿السَّماءِ﴾ مضاف إليه ﴿ما﴾ نافية ﴿يُمْسِكُهُنَّ﴾ مضارع مرفوع ومفعوله ﴿إِلَّا﴾ أداة حصر ﴿اللَّهُ﴾ لفظ الجلالة فاعل والجملة حالية ﴿إِنَّ﴾ إن حرف مشبه بالفعل ﴿فِي ذلِكَ﴾ ذا اسم إشارة واللام للبعد والكاف للخطاب ومتعلقان بالخبر المقدم ﴿لَآياتٍ﴾ اللام المزحلقة وآيات اسم إن ﴿لِقَوْمٍ﴾ متعلقان بمحذوف صفة لآيات ﴿يُؤْمِنُونَ﴾ مضارع مرفوع بثبوت النون والواو فاعل والجملة مستأنفة.

16:73
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمۡلِكُ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ ٧٣
And they worship besides Allāh that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable.
16:74
فَلَا تَضۡرِبُواْ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٧٤
So do not assert similarities to Allāh.1 Indeed, Allāh knows and you do not know.

16:75
۞ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبۡدٗا مَّمۡلُوكٗا لَّا يَقۡدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَمَن رَّزَقۡنَٰهُ مِنَّا رِزۡقًا حَسَنٗا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنۡهُ سِرّٗا وَجَهۡرًاۖ هَلۡ يَسۡتَوُۥنَۚ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٧٥
Allāh presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allāh! But most of them do not know.
16:76
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا رَّجُلَيۡنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبۡكَمُ لَا يَقۡدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوۡلَىٰهُ أَيۡنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأۡتِ بِخَيۡرٍ هَلۡ يَسۡتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ ٧٦
And Allāh presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path?
16:77
وَلِلَّهِ غَيۡبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَآ أَمۡرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمۡحِ ٱلۡبَصَرِ أَوۡ هُوَ أَقۡرَبُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ ٧٧
And to Allāh belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.
16:78
وَٱللَّهُ أَخۡرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ٧٨
And Allāh has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect] that perhaps you would be grateful.
16:79
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٖ فِي جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٧٩
