Al-Hajj 22:23

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدۡخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوۡنَ فِيهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٖ وَلُؤۡلُؤٗاۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ فِيهَا حَرِيرٞ ٢٣
Indeed, Allāh will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearl, and their garments therein will be silk.

Commentary on 22:23
يقول تعالى ذكره: وأما الذين آمنوا بالله ورسوله فأطاعوهما بما أمرهم الله به من صالح الأعمال، فإن الله يُدخلهم جنات عدن تجري من تحتها الأنهار، فيحليهم فيها من أساور من ذهب ولؤلؤا.
واختلفت القرّاء في قراءة قوله: ( وَلُؤْلُؤًا ) فقرأته عامة قرّاء أهل المدينة وبعض أهل الكوفة نصبا مع التي في الملائكة، بمعنى: يحلون فيها أساور من ذهب ولؤلؤا، عطفا باللؤلؤ على موضع الأساور، لأن الأساور وإن كانت مخفوضة من أجل دخول من فيها، فإنها بمعنى النصب، قالوا: وهي تعدّ في خط المصحف بالألف، فذلك دليل على صحة القراءة بالنصب فيه. وقرأت ذلك عامة قرّاء العراق والمصرين: ( وَلُؤْلُؤٍ ) خفضا عطفا على إعراب الأساور الظاهر.
واختلف الذي قرءوا ذلك في وجه إثبات الألف فيه، فكان أبو عمرو بن العلاء فيما ذكر لي عنه يقول: أثبتت فيه كما أثبتت في قالوا: و كالوا. وكان الكسائي يقول: أثبتوها فيه للهمزة، لأن الهمزة حرف من الحروف.
والقول في ذلك عندي أنهما قراءتان مشهورتان، قد قرأ بكل واحدة منهما علماء من القرّاء، متفقتا المعنى، صحيحتا المخرج في العربية، فبأيتهما قرأ القارئ فمصيب.
وقوله: ( وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ ) يقول: ولبوسهم التي تلي أبشارهم فيها ثياب حرير.

22:16
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِۭ بَيِّنَٰتٖ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَهۡدِي مَن يُرِيدُ ١٦
And thus have We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down as verses of clear evidence and because Allāh guides whom He intends.
22:17
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلۡمَجُوسَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَفۡصِلُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ ١٧
Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allāh - Allāh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allāh is, over all things, Witness.1

22:18
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَسۡجُدُۤ لَهُۥۤ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ وَٱلنُّجُومُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ وَٱلدَّوَآبُّ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِۖ وَكَثِيرٌ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡعَذَابُۗ وَمَن يُهِنِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّكۡرِمٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ۩ ١٨
Do you not see [i.e., know] that to Allāh prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified.1 And he whom Allāh humiliates - for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allāh does what He wills.

22:19
۞ هَٰذَانِ خَصۡمَانِ ٱخۡتَصَمُواْ فِي رَبِّهِمۡۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ قُطِّعَتۡ لَهُمۡ ثِيَابٞ مِّن نَّارٖ يُصَبُّ مِن فَوۡقِ رُءُوسِهِمُ ٱلۡحَمِيمُ ١٩
These1 are two adversaries who have disputed over their Lord. But those who disbelieved will have cut out for them garments of fire. Poured upon their heads will be scalding water

22:20
يُصۡهَرُ بِهِۦ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ وَٱلۡجُلُودُ ٢٠
By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins.
22:21
وَلَهُم مَّقَٰمِعُ مِنۡ حَدِيدٖ ٢١
And for [striking] them are maces of iron.
22:22
كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓاْ أَن يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنۡهَا مِنۡ غَمٍّ أُعِيدُواْ فِيهَا وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ ٢٢
Every time they want to get out of it [i.e., Hellfire] from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire!"
22:23
