Al-Hajj 22:67

لِّكُلِّ أُمَّةٖ جَعَلۡنَا مَنسَكًا هُمۡ نَاسِكُوهُۖ فَلَا يُنَٰزِعُنَّكَ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِۚ وَٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَۖ إِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ هُدٗى مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ ٦٧
For every [religious] community We have appointed rites which they perform. So, [O Muḥammad], let them [i.e., the disbelievers] not contend with you over the matter but invite [them] to your Lord. Indeed, you are upon straight guidance.

Commentary on 22:67
هو نهى لرسول الله ﷺ، أى: لا تلتفت إلى قولهم ولا تمكنهم من أن ينازعوك. أو هو زجر لهم عن التعرض لرسول الله ﷺ بالمنازعة في الدين وهم جهال لا علم عندهم وهم كفار خزاعة. روى أن بديل بن ورقاء وبشر بن سفيان الخزاعيين وغيرهما قالوا للمسلمين: ما لكم تأكلون ما قتلتم، ولا تأكلون ما قتله الله! يعنون الميتة. وقال الزجاج: هو نهى له ﷺ عن منازعتهم، كما تقول: لا يضار بنك فلان، أى:
لا تضاربه. وهذا جائز في الفعل الذي لا يكون إلا بين اثنين فِي الْأَمْرِ في أمر الدين. وقيل:
في أمر النسائك، وقرئ: فلا ينزعنك، أى اثبت في دينك ثباتا لا يطمعون أن يجذبوك ليزيلوك عنه. والمراد: زيادة التثبيت للنبي ﷺ بما يهيج حميته ويلهب غضبه لله ولدينه.
ومنه قوله وَلا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ آياتِ اللَّهِ، وَلا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَلا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيراً لِلْكافِرِينَ. وهيهات أن ترتع همة رسول الله ﷺ حول ذلك الحمى، ولكنه وارد على ما قلت لك من إرادة التهييج والإلهاب. وقال الزجاج: هو من نازعته فنزعته أنزعه، أى: غلبته، أى: لا يغلبنك في المنازعة. فإن قلت: لم جاءت نظيرة هذه الآية [[قوله «نظيرة هذه الآية» هي قوله تعالى وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنا مَنْسَكاً لِيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ الخ. (ع)]] معطوفة بالواو وقد نزعت عن هذه؟ قلت: لأنّ تلك وقعت مع ما يدانيها ويناسبها من الاى الواردة في أمر النسائك، فعطفت على أخواتها. وأما هذه فواقعة مع أباعد عن معناها فلم تجد معطفا.

22:65
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلۡفُلۡكَ تَجۡرِي فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَيُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَآءَ أَن تَقَعَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ ٦٥
Do you not see that Allāh has subjected to you whatever is on the earth and the ships which run through the sea by His command? And He restrains the sky from falling upon the earth, unless by His permission. Indeed Allāh, to the people, is Kind and Merciful.
22:66
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَحۡيَاكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيكُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٞ ٦٦
And He is the one who gave you life; then He causes you to die and then will [again] give you life. Indeed, mankind is ungrateful.
22:67

22:68
وَإِن جَٰدَلُوكَ فَقُلِ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ٦٨
And if they dispute with you, then say, "Allāh is most knowing of what you do.
22:69
ٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ٦٩
Allāh will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which you used to differ."
22:70
أَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ فِي كِتَٰبٍۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٞ ٧٠
Do you not know that Allāh knows what is in the heaven and earth? Indeed, that is in a Record.1 Indeed that, for Allāh, is easy.

22:71
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ سُلۡطَٰنٗا وَمَا لَيۡسَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞۗ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٖ ٧١
And they worship besides Allāh that for which He has not sent down authority and that of which they have no knowledge. And there will not be for the wrongdoers any helper.
22:72
وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡمُنكَرَۖ يَكَادُونَ يَسۡطُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ يَتۡلُونَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَاۗ قُلۡ أَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرّٖ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمُۚ ٱلنَّارُ وَعَدَهَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٧٢
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval. They are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them Our verses. Say, "Then shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that?1 [It is] the Fire which Allāh has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is the destination."
