Al-Furqan 25:67

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُواْ لَمۡ يُسۡرِفُواْ وَلَمۡ يَقۡتُرُواْ وَكَانَ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامٗا ٦٧
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

Commentary on 25:67
[فصل: الفرق بين الاقتصاد والتقصير]
والفرق بين الاقتصاد والتقصير: أن الاقتصاد هو التوسط بين طرفي الإفراط والتفريط وله طرفان هما ضدان له تقصير ومجاوزة فالمقتصد قد أخذ بالوسط وعدل عن الطرفين قال تعالى: ﴿والَّذِينَ إذا أنْفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا ولَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وكانَ بَيْنَ ذلِكَ قَوامًا﴾
وقال تعالى: ﴿ولا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إلى عُنُقِكَ ولا تَبْسُطْها كُلَّ البَسْطِ﴾
وقال تعالى: ﴿وكُلُوا واشْرَبُوا ولا تُسْرِفُوا﴾
والدين كله بين هذين الطرفين بل الإسلام قصد بين الملل والسنّة قصد بين البدع ودين اللّه بين الغالي فيه والجافي عنه وكذلك الاجتهاد هو بذل الجهد في موافقة الأمر، والغلو مجاوزته وتعديه، وما أمر اللّه بأمر إلا وللشيطان فيه نزعتان فإما إلى غلو ومجاوزة وإما إلى تفريط وتقصير هما آفتان لا يخلص منهما في الاعتقاد والقصد والعمل إلا من مشى خلف رسول اللّه صلى اللّه عليه وآله وسلم وترك أقوال الناس وآراءهم لما جاء به لا من ترك ما جاء به لأقوالهم وآرائهم وهذان المرضان الخطران قد استوليا على أكثر بني آدم ولهذا حذر السلف منهما أشد التحذير وخوفوا من بلى بأحدهما بالهلاك وقد يجتمعان في الشخص الواحد كما هو حال أكثر الخلق يكون مقصرا مفرطا في بعض دينه غاليا متجاوزا في بعضه والمهدي من هدى اللّه.

25:56
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا ٥٦
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
25:57
قُلۡ مَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ أَن يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلٗا ٥٧
Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."
25:58
وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱلۡحَيِّ ٱلَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِهِۦۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًا ٥٨
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -
25:59
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ فَسۡـَٔلۡ بِهِۦ خَبِيرٗا ٥٩
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].

25:60
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ قَالُواْ وَمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ أَنَسۡجُدُ لِمَا تَأۡمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمۡ نُفُورٗا۩ ٦٠
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجٗا وَقَمَرٗا مُّنِيرٗا ٦١
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
25:62
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلۡفَةٗ لِّمَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوۡ أَرَادَ شُكُورٗا ٦٢
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
25:63
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمۡشُونَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هَوۡنٗا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلۡجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا ٦٣
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,1 and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,2
25:64
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمۡ سُجَّدٗا وَقِيَٰمٗا ٦٤
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
25:65
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصۡرِفۡ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا ٦٥
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
25:66
إِنَّهَا سَآءَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرّٗا وَمُقَامٗا ٦٦
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
25:67
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُواْ لَمۡ يُسۡرِفُواْ وَلَمۡ يَقۡتُرُواْ وَكَانَ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامٗا ٦٧
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
