An-Naml 27:59

قُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰٓۗ ءَآللَّهُ خَيۡرٌ أَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٥٩
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"

Commentary on 27:59
يقول تعالى آمرا رسوله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أن يقول : ( الحمد لله ) أي : على نعمه على عباده ، من النعم التي لا تعد ولا تحصى ، وعلى ما اتصف به من الصفات العلى والأسماء الحسنى ، وأن يسلم على عباد الله الذين اصطفاهم واختارهم ، وهم رسله وأنبياؤه الكرام ، عليهم من الله الصلاة والسلام ، هكذا قال عبد الرحمن بن زيد بن أسلم ، وغيره : إن المراد بعباده الذين اصطفى : هم الأنبياء ، قال : وهو كقوله تعالى : ( سبحان ربك رب العزة عما يصفون وسلام على المرسلين والحمد لله رب العالمين ) [ الصافات : 180 - 182 ] .
وقال الثوري ، والسدي : هم أصحاب محمد - صلى الله عليه وسلم - رضي [ الله ] عنهم أجمعين ، وروي نحوه عن ابن عباس .
ولا منافاة ، فإنهم إذا كانوا من عباد الله الذين اصطفى ، فالأنبياء بطريق الأولى والأحرى ، والقصد أن الله تعالى أمر رسوله ومن اتبعه بعدما ذكر لهم ما فعل بأوليائه من النجاة والنصر والتأييد ، وما أحل بأعدائه من الخزي والنكال والقهر ، أن يحمدوه على جميع أفعاله ، وأن يسلموا على عباده المصطفين الأخيار .
وقد قال أبو بكر البزار : حدثنا محمد بن عمارة بن صبيح ، حدثنا طلق بن غنام ، حدثنا الحكم بن ظهير ، عن السدي - إن شاء الله - عن أبي مالك ، عن ابن عباس : ( وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى ) قال : هم أصحاب محمد - صلى الله عليه وسلم - اصطفاهم الله لنبيه ، رضي الله عنهم .
وقوله : ( آلله خير أم ما يشركون ) : استفهام إنكار على المشركين في عبادتهم مع الله آلهة أخرى .

27:56
۞ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوٓاْ ءَالَ لُوطٖ مِّن قَرۡيَتِكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٞ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ ٥٦
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."
27:57
فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَٰهَا مِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ ٥٧
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.
27:58
وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرٗاۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ ٥٨
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
27:59
قُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰٓۗ ءَآللَّهُ خَيۡرٌ أَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٥٩
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"
27:60
أَمَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا بِهِۦ حَدَآئِقَ ذَاتَ بَهۡجَةٖ مَّا كَانَ لَكُمۡ أَن تُنۢبِتُواْ شَجَرَهَآۗ أَءِلَٰهٞ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ يَعۡدِلُونَ ٦٠
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh?1 [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

27:61
أَمَّن جَعَلَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ قَرَارٗا وَجَعَلَ خِلَٰلَهَآ أَنۡهَٰرٗا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ حَاجِزًاۗ أَءِلَٰهٞ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٦١
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.
27:62
أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكۡشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجۡعَلُكُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ أَءِلَٰهٞ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٦٢
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth?1 Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.

27:63
أَمَّن يَهۡدِيكُمۡ فِي ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ وَمَن يُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشۡرَۢا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡ رَحۡمَتِهِۦٓۗ أَءِلَٰهٞ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِۚ تَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٦٣
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
