وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ ٥
And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

Commentary on 28:5
قوله تعالى: ﴿وَنُرِيدُ﴾ لفظ استقبال أريد به حكاية حال قد مضت. وقد ذكرنا هذا عند قوله: ﴿فَنُجِّيَ مَنْ نَشَاءُ﴾ [[قال الواحدي في تفسير هذه الآية: قال أبو علي: هو حكاية حال ألا ترى أن القصة فيما مضى، وإنما حكى فعل الحال على ما كانت كما أن قوله: ﴿هَذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ﴾ [القصص: 15] أشار إلى الحاضر والقصة ماضية لأنه حكى الحال.]] [يوسف: 110] وهو أيضًا حكاية حال.
قوله: ﴿أَنْ نَمُنَّ﴾ قال مقاتل: نُنعم ﴿عَلَى الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا﴾ مصر، وهم بنو إسرائيل [["تفسير مقاتل" 63 أ. وأخرجه ابن جرير 20/ 28، عن قتادة. و"تفسير الثعلبي" 8/ 139 ب.]]. ﴿وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً﴾ قال ابن عباس: يريد في الهدى، ونحوه [[ذكره الثعلبي 8/ 139 ب، عن ابن عباس، بلفظ: قادة في الخير يقتدى بهم.]].
قال مقاتل: يُقتدَى بِهم في الخير [["تفسير مقاتل" 63 أ.]].
وقال قتادة: ولاة ملوكًا [[أخرجه ابن جرير 20/ 28، وابن أبي حاتم 9/ 2941. وذكره الثعلبي 8/ 139 ب.]]. وهو اختيار أبي إسحاق؛ قال: نجعلهم ولاة يؤتم بِهم [["معاني القرآن" للزجاج 4/ 132.]].
وقال مجاهد: دعاة إلى الخير [[ذكره الثعلبي 8/ 139 ب، عن مجاهد.]]. ﴿وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوَارِثِينَ﴾ لملك فرعون، يرثون ملكه، ويسكنون مساكنهم، ويرثون ما يترك فرعون ويخلف بعده [["تفسير الثعلبي" 8/ 139 ب، بنحوه. وأخرج ابن جرير 20/ 28، عن قتادة: يرثون الأرض بعد فرعون وقومه.]].

27:89
مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡهَا وَهُم مِّن فَزَعٖ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ءَامِنُونَ ٨٩
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.
27:90
وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتۡ وُجُوهُهُمۡ فِي ٱلنَّارِ هَلۡ تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ٩٠
And whoever comes with an evil deed1 - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

27:91
إِنَّمَآ أُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡبَلۡدَةِ ٱلَّذِي حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُۥ كُلُّ شَيۡءٖۖ وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ٩١
[Say, O Muḥammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city,1 who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]

27:92
وَأَنۡ أَتۡلُوَاْ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَۖ فَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهۡتَدِي لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَقُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنذِرِينَ ٩٢
And to recite the Qur’ān." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."
27:93
وَقُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ فَتَعۡرِفُونَهَاۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ ٩٣
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."

28:2
تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ ٢
These are verses of the clear Book.
28:3
نَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٣
We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe.
28:4
إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعٗا يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنۡهُمۡ يُذَبِّحُ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ ٤
Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters.
28:5
