Al-Qasas 28:68

وَرَبُّكَ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخۡتَارُۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِيَرَةُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٦٨
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allāh and high above what they associate with Him.

Commentary on 28:68–70
اور آپ کا رب پیدا کرتا ہے جو وہ چاہتا ہے اور (جو) وہ پسند کرتا ہے، نہیں ہے ان (لوگوں ) کے لیے کوئی اختیار، پاک ہے اللہ اور وہ برتر ہے ان سے جو وہ شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں (68)اور آپ کا رب جانتا ہے جو کچھ چھپاتے ہیں سینے ان کے اور جو کچھ وہ ظاہر کرتے ہیں (69) اور وہی ہے اللہ، نہیں کوئی اور الٰہ مگر وہی، اسی کے ہے تمام حمد دنیا اور آخرت میں اور اسی کا ہے حکم،اور اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے تم (سب)(70)
[70-68] اللہ تبارک وتعالیٰ ذکر فرماتا ہے کہ اس نے تمام مخلوقات کو پیدا کیا پھر ان میں اپنی مشیت نافذ کی اور وہ اپنے اختیار میں متفرد ہے۔ وہ اشخاص، اوامر، ازمان اور اماکن میں سے جو چاہتا ہے چن کر مختص کر لیتا ہے کسی کو اس معاملے میں کوئی اختیار نہیں ۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ان تمام شریکوں ، مددگاروں ، اولاد اور بیوی وغیرہ سے منزہ اور مبرا ہے جنھیں یہ مشرکین اس کا شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں ۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ان تمام امور کو خوب جانتا ہے جنھیں یہ اپنے سینوں میں چھپاتے ہیں اور جنھیں یہ ظاہر کرتے ہیں ۔ وہ اکیلا ہی دنیا و آخرت میں اپنی صفات جمال و کمال اور اپنی مخلوق پر احسان و اکرام کی بنا پر مستحق عبادت اور لائق ستائش ہے۔ وہی دنیا و آخرت میں فیصلے کرنے والا ہے، دنیا میں اپنے حکم کونی و قدری کے مطابق فیصلے کرتا ہے جو تمام مخلوق میں جاری و ساری ہیں اور وہ اپنے حکم دینی کے مطابق فیصلے کرتا ہے جس سے تمام شرائع اوامر و نواہی وجود میں آتے ہیں ۔ وہ آخرت میں بھی اپنے حکم قدری و جزائی کے مطابق فیصلے کرے گا اس لیے فرمایا:﴿ وَاِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴾ ’’اور اسی کی طرف تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے۔‘‘ تب وہ تم میں سے ہر ایک کو اس کے اچھے اور برے عمل کی جزا دے گا۔

28:60
وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَزِينَتُهَاۚ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ٦٠
And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allāh is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?
28:61
أَفَمَن وَعَدۡنَٰهُ وَعۡدًا حَسَنٗا فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعۡنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ ٦١
Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will meet [i.e., obtain] like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?
28:62
وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تَزۡعُمُونَ ٦٢
And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?"
28:63
قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَغۡوَيۡنَآ أَغۡوَيۡنَٰهُمۡ كَمَا غَوَيۡنَاۖ تَبَرَّأۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَۖ مَا كَانُوٓاْ إِيَّانَا يَعۡبُدُونَ ٦٣
Those upon whom the word1 will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship [i.e., obey] us."2
28:64
وَقِيلَ ٱدۡعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمۡ فَدَعَوۡهُمۡ فَلَمۡ يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَهُمۡ وَرَأَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَۚ لَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ يَهۡتَدُونَ ٦٤
And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners,'" and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance!
28:65
وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أَجَبۡتُمُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ٦٥
And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"
28:66
فَعَمِيَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ فَهُمۡ لَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٦٦
But the information1 will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another.

28:67
فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحِينَ ٦٧
But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is expected [i.e., promised by Allāh] that he will be among the successful.
28:68
وَرَبُّكَ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخۡتَارُۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِيَرَةُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٦٨
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allāh and high above what they associate with Him.
28:69
وَرَبُّكَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمۡ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ ٦٩
And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.
28:70
وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ٧٠
And He is Allāh; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned.
