إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ رِجۡزٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡسُقُونَ ٣٤
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."

﴿إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡیَةِ رِجۡزࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ﴾ - تفسير
٥٩٨٨٠- عن عبد الله بن عباس -من طريق الضحاك- في قوله: ﴿رجزا﴾، قال: كل شيء في كتاب الله من الرجز يعني به: العذاب[[أخرجه ابن أبي حاتم ٩/٣٠٥٨.]]. (ز)
٥٩٨٨١- عن قتادة بن دعامة -من طريق سعيد- في قوله: ﴿إنا منزلون على أهل هذه القرية رجزا من السماء﴾، قال: عذابًا مِن السماء[[أخرجه عبد الرزاق في تفسيره ٢/٢٦٩ من طريق معمر، وابن جرير ١٨/٣٩٥-٣٩٧، وابن أبي حاتم ٩/٣٠٥٦-٣٠٥٨، وعزاه السيوطي إلى عبد بن حميد، وابن المنذر، وابن عساكر.]]. (١١/٥٤٧)
٥٩٨٨٢- قال مقاتل بن سليمان، في قوله تعالى: ﴿إنا منزلون على أهل هذه القرية رجزًا﴾ يعني: عذابًا ﴿من السماء﴾ على قرى لوط، يعني: الخسف والحصب[[تفسير مقاتل بن سليمان ٣/٣٨٢.]]. (ز)
٥٩٨٨٣- قال يحيى بن سلّام: ﴿إنا منزلون على أهل هذه القرية رجزا من السماء﴾ يعنون: قرية قوم لوط، ﴿رجزا﴾: عذابًا[[تفسير يحيى بن سلّام ٢/٦٢٨.]]. (ز)
﴿بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡسُقُونَ ٣٤﴾ - تفسير
٥٩٨٨٤- عن قتادة بن دعامة -من طريق سعيد- في قوله: ﴿بما كانوا يفسقون﴾، قال: بما كانوا يعصون[[أخرجه ابن أبي حاتم ٩/٣٠٥٨.]]. (ز)
٥٩٨٨٥- قال مقاتل بن سليمان، في قوله تعالى: ﴿بما كانوا يفسقون﴾: يعني: يعصون[[تفسير مقاتل بن سليمان ٣/٣٨٢.]]. (ز)
٥٩٨٨٦- قال يحيى بن سلّام: ﴿بما كانوا يفسقون﴾ يشركون[[تفسير يحيى بن سلّام ٢/٦٢٨.]]. (ز)

29:31
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مُهۡلِكُوٓاْ أَهۡلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِۖ إِنَّ أَهۡلَهَا كَانُواْ ظَٰلِمِينَ ٣١
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abraham with the good tidings,1 they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot's] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."

29:32
قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطٗاۚ قَالُواْ نَحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَاۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ ٣٢
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind."
29:33
وَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَا لُوطٗا سِيٓءَ بِهِمۡ وَضَاقَ بِهِمۡ ذَرۡعٗاۖ وَقَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهۡلَكَ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَكَ كَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ ٣٣
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort.1 They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind.

29:34
إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ رِجۡزٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡسُقُونَ ٣٤
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."
29:35
وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَا مِنۡهَآ ءَايَةَۢ بَيِّنَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ ٣٥
And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.
29:36
وَإِلَىٰ مَدۡيَنَ أَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٗا فَقَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱرۡجُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ ٣٦
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."
29:37
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلرَّجۡفَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ فِي دَارِهِمۡ جَٰثِمِينَ ٣٧
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
29:38
وَعَادٗا وَثَمُودَاْ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَٰكِنِهِمۡۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ فَصَدَّهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُواْ مُسۡتَبۡصِرِينَ ٣٨
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.
