وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَلَقَدۡ وَصَّيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَإِيَّاكُمۡ أَنِ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ وَإِن تَكۡفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَنِيًّا حَمِيدٗا ١٣١
And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And We have instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear Allāh. But if you disbelieve - then to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And ever is Allāh Free of need and Praiseworthy.

Commentary on 4:131–132
﴿وَلِلَّهِ ما في السَّماواتِ وما في الأرْضِ﴾ تَنْبِيهٌ عَلى كَمالِ سِعَتِهِ وقُدْرَتِهِ. ﴿وَلَقَدْ وصَّيْنا الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الكِتابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ﴾ يَعْنِي اليَهُودَ والنَّصارى، ومِن قَبْلِهِمْ، والكِتابُ لِلْجِنْسِ ومِن مُتَعَلِّقَةٌ بِ وصَّيْنا أوْ بِـ أُوتُوا ومَساقُ الآيَةِ لِتَأْكِيدِ الأمْرِ بِالإخْلاصِ. ﴿وَإيّاكُمْ﴾ عَطْفٌ عَلى الَّذِينَ. ﴿أنِ اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ﴾ بِأنِ اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ، ويَجُوزُ أنْ تَكُونَ أنْ مُفَسِّرَةً لِأنَّ التَّوْصِيَةَ في مَعْنى القَوْلِ. ﴿وَإنْ تَكْفُرُوا فَإنَّ لِلَّهِ ما في السَّماواتِ وما في (p-102)الأرْضِ﴾ عَلى إرادَةِ القَوْلِ أيْ: وقُلْنا لَهم ولَكم إنَّ تَكْفُرُوا فَإنَّ اللَّهَ مالِكُ المُلْكِ كُلِّهِ لا يَتَضَرَّرُ بِكُفْرِكم ومَعاصِيكُمْ، كَما لا يَنْتَفِعُ بِشُكْرِكم وتَقْواكُمْ، وإنَّما وصّاكم لِرَحْمَتِهِ لا لِحاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ قَرَّرَ ذَلِكَ بِقَوْلِهِ: ﴿وَكانَ اللَّهُ غَنِيًّا﴾ عَنِ الخَلْقِ وعِبادَتِهِمْ. ﴿حَمِيدًا﴾ في ذاتِهِ حُمِدَ أوْ لَمْ يُحْمَدْ.
﴿وَلِلَّهِ ما في السَّماواتِ وما في الأرْضِ﴾ ذَكَرَهُ ثالِثًا لِلدَّلالَةِ عَلى كَوْنِهِ غَنِيًّا حَمِيدًا، فَإنَّ جَمِيعَ المَخْلُوقاتِ تَدُلُّ بِحاجَتِها عَلى غِناهُ وبِما أفاضَ عَلَيْها مِنَ الوُجُودِ وأنْواعِ الخَصائِصِ والكَمالاتِ عَلى كَوْنِهِ حَمِيدًا. ﴿وَكَفى بِاللَّهِ وكِيلا﴾ راجِعٌ إلى قَوْلِهِ ﴿يُغْنِ اللَّهُ كُلا مِن سَعَتِهِ﴾ فَإنَّهُ تَوَكَّلَ بِكِفايَتِهِما وما بَيْنَهُما تَقْرِيرٌ لِذَلِكَ.

4:128
وَإِنِ ٱمۡرَأَةٌ خَافَتۡ مِنۢ بَعۡلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوۡ إِعۡرَاضٗا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِمَآ أَن يُصۡلِحَا بَيۡنَهُمَا صُلۡحٗاۚ وَٱلصُّلۡحُ خَيۡرٞۗ وَأُحۡضِرَتِ ٱلۡأَنفُسُ ٱلشُّحَّۚ وَإِن تُحۡسِنُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٗا ١٢٨
And if a woman fears from her husband contempt or evasion, there is no sin upon them if they make terms of settlement between them - and settlement is best. And present in [human] souls is stinginess.1 But if you do good and fear Allāh - then indeed Allāh is ever, of what you do, Aware.

4:129
وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡۖ فَلَا تَمِيلُواْ كُلَّ ٱلۡمَيۡلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلۡمُعَلَّقَةِۚ وَإِن تُصۡلِحُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا ١٢٩
And you will never be able to be equal [in feeling] between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging.1 And if you amend [your affairs] and fear Allāh - then indeed, Allāh is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

4:130
وَإِن يَتَفَرَّقَا يُغۡنِ ٱللَّهُ كُلّٗا مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعًا حَكِيمٗا ١٣٠
But if they separate [by divorce], Allāh will enrich each [of them] from His abundance. And ever is Allāh Encompassing and Wise.
4:131

And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And We have instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear Allāh. 4:132
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا ١٣٢
And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allāh as Disposer of affairs.1

4:133
إِن يَشَأۡ يُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَيَأۡتِ بِـَٔاخَرِينَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ قَدِيرٗا ١٣٣
If He wills, He can do away with you, O people, and bring others [in your place]. And ever is Allāh competent to do that.
4:134
مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ ثَوَابُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرٗا ١٣٤
Whoever desires the reward of this world - then with Allāh is the reward of this world and the Hereafter. And ever is Allāh Hearing and Seeing.
