يَسۡـَٔلُكَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كِتَٰبٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ فَقَدۡ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكۡبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓاْ أَرِنَا ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلۡمِهِمۡۚ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُواْ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوۡنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينٗا ١٥٣
The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, "Show us Allāh outright," so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And We gave Moses a clear authority.

โอ้ท่านเราะซูล ชาวยิวขอร้องให้เจ้านำคัมภีร์ฉบับหนึ่งจากฟากฟ้าลงมาแก่พวกเขาอย่างเบ็ดเสร็จดังที่เคยเกิดขึ้นกับมูซาเพื่อเป็นสัญญาณบ่งบอกถึงความสัจจริงของเจ้า ดังนั้นเจ้าจงอย่าได้ให้ความสำคัญกับพวกเขาในเรื่องดังกล่าว เพราะบรรพบรุษของพวกเขาได้เคยขอร้องมูซาซึ่งสิ่งที่ใหญ่กว่าที่พวกเขาเหล่านั้นได้ขอร้องเจ้า โดยบรรพบรุษของพวกเขาได้ขอร้องมูซาให้พวกเขาได้เห็นอัลลอฮฺกับตาโดยชัดแจ้ง แล้วพวกเขาก็ถูกฟ้าผ่าเพื่อเป็นการลงโทษในสิ่งที่พวกเขาได้กระทำไว้ หลังจากนั้นพระองค์ก็ทรงให้พวกเขาฟื้นคืนชีพอีกครั้ง แล้วพวกเขาก็ได้เคารพอิบาดะฮฺลูกวัวนอกจากอัลลอฮฺภายหลังจากที่สัญญาณอันชัดแจ้งที่บ่งบอกถึงความเป็นเอกะของอัลลอฮฺและความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวในเรื่องรุบูบียะฮฺและอุลูฮียะฮฺได้มายังพวกเขา แล้วเราก็ได้อภัยให้แก่พวกเขา และเราได้ให้แก่มูซาซึ่งอำนาจหลักฐานอันชัดเจนเหนือกลุ่มชนของเขา

4:148
۞ لَّا يُحِبُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا ١٤٨
Allāh does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is Allāh Hearing and Knowing.
4:149
إِن تُبۡدُواْ خَيۡرًا أَوۡ تُخۡفُوهُ أَوۡ تَعۡفُواْ عَن سُوٓءٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوّٗا قَدِيرًا ١٤٩
If [instead] you show [some] good or conceal it or pardon an offense - indeed, Allāh is ever Pardoning and Competent.1

4:150
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤۡمِنُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَنَكۡفُرُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا ١٥٠
Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allāh and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allāh and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between -
4:151
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ حَقّٗاۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا ١٥١
Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
4:152
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَمۡ يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ سَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِيهِمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا ١٥٢
But they who believe in Allāh and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
4:153

4:154
وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَٰقِهِمۡ وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمُ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡبَابَ سُجَّدٗا وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لَا تَعۡدُواْ فِي ٱلسَّبۡتِ وَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظٗا ١٥٤
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly"; and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath"; and We took from them a solemn covenant.
