Commentary on 46:1
سورة " الأحقاف " من السور التى افتتحت ببعض الحروف الهجائية ، وأقرب الأقوال إلى الصواب فى معناها أن يقال : إن هذه الحروف المقطعة قد وردت فى افتتاح بعض السور ، للإِشعار بأن هذا القرآن الذى تحدى به الله - تعالى - المشركين ، هو من جنس الكلام المركب من هذه الحروف التى يعرفونها ، ويقدرون على تأليف الكلام منها ، فإذا عجزوا عن الإِتيان بسورة من مثله ، فذلك لبلوغه فى الفصاحة والحكمة مرتبةً فصحاؤهم وبلغاؤهم دونها بمراحل شاسعة .وفضلا عن كل ذلك فإن تصدير بعض السور ، يمثل هذه الحروف المقطعة يجذب أنظار المعرضين عن استماع القرآن حين يتلى عليهم إى الإِنصات والتدبر ، لأنه يطرق أسماعهم فى أول التلاوة بألفاظ غير مألوفة فى مجارى كلامهم .وذلك مما يلفت أنظارهم ، ليتبينوا ما يراد منها ، فيسمعوا حكما وحججا ومواعظ من شأنها أنها تهديهم إلى الحق ، لو كانوا يعقلون .وقد سبق أن بينا - بشئ من التفصيل - آراء العلماء فى هذه الحروف المقطعة .

45:33
وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ٣٣
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
45:34
وَقِيلَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰكُمۡ كَمَا نَسِيتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ٣٤
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.
45:35
ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ ٣٥
That is because you took the verses of Allāh in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].
45:36
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٣٦
Then, to Allāh belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.
45:37
وَلَهُ ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٣٧
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

46:1

46:2
تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ ٢
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
46:3
مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُواْ مُعۡرِضُونَ ٣
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.
46:4
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِي بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ أَثَٰرَةٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ٤
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allāh? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."
46:5
وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآئِهِمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ ٥
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allāh those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection [i.e., never], and they, of their invocation, are unaware.
