سَيَقُولُ ٱلۡمُخَلَّفُونَ إِذَا ٱنطَلَقۡتُمۡ إِلَىٰ مَغَانِمَ لِتَأۡخُذُوهَا ذَرُونَا نَتَّبِعۡكُمۡۖ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُبَدِّلُواْ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِۚ قُل لَّن تَتَّبِعُونَا كَذَٰلِكُمۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ مِن قَبۡلُۖ فَسَيَقُولُونَ بَلۡ تَحۡسُدُونَنَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا ١٥
Those who remained1 behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you." They wish to change the words of Allāh. Say, "Never will you follow us. Thus did Allāh say before." So they will say, "Rather, you envy us." But [in fact] they were not understanding except a little.2

Kur ju të shkoni për të mbledhur plaçkën e luftës, ata që ngelën pas, do të thonë: “Na lini të vijmë edhe ne me ju!” -Pasi përshkroi gjendjen e përbuzur dhe të dënueshme të njerëzve që nuk morën pjesë në luftë me Profetin (a.s.), Allahu i Madhëruar na tregon një prej mënyrave me të cilën ata u ndëshkuan që në dynja. Kur Profeti (a.s.) dhe shokët e tij, me mirësinë e Zotit, fituan plaçkë lufte pa zhvilluar asnjë betejë dhe shkuan për ta marrë atë, këta të mjerë kërkuan që të merrnin ndonjë pjesë, duke thënë: “Na lejoni të vijmë edhe ne me ju, që të marrim nga plaçka luftës!” Kështu ata donin të ndryshonin gjykimin e Allahut rreth plaçkës së luftës dhe atyre që e meritojnë atë. Allahu i Madhëruar kishte vendosur që këtyre të mos u jepej gjë nga plaçka e luftës, si ndëshkim për ta, por ta përfitonin vetëm besimtarët e vërtetë. Ky qe caktimi i Zotit dhe ligji i Tij.Kështu, ata duan të ndryshojnë urdhrin e Allahut. Ti thuaju: “Kurrsesi! Ju nuk keni për të ardhur me ne. Kështu ka thënë Allahu më herët.” -Thuaju atyre: “Kurrë nuk keni për të ardhur! Ju jeni të privuar nga ky nder, sepse ia bëtë vetes padrejtësinë duke mos marrë pjesë në luftë, kur u ftuat të bashkoheshit me ne.”Kurse ata do t’ju thonë: “Nuk është ashtu. Ju na keni zili.” Por ata mendojnë shumë pak. -Kur atyre iu përcoll gjykimi i Allahut, që ishte ndëshkim për ta, si përgjigje thanë: “Ju na keni zili! Nga zilia juaj, nuk doni që të marrim pjesë me ju në plaçkën e luftës!” Ja, deri këtu arriti logjika e tyre në këtë çëshje. Nëse do të logjikonin drejt, do ta kuptonin se ata u privuan nga plaçka e luftës për shkak të mosbindjes së tyre. Do ta kuptonin se mosbindja sjell ndëshkime në dynja dhe në ahiret.

48:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا ١٠
Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muḥammad] - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allāh. The hand1 of Allāh is over their hands.2 So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allāh - He will give him a great reward.
48:11
سَيَقُولُ لَكَ ٱلۡمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ شَغَلَتۡنَآ أَمۡوَٰلُنَا وَأَهۡلُونَا فَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَنَاۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَلۡسِنَتِهِم مَّا لَيۡسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡۚ قُلۡ فَمَن يَمۡلِكُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـًٔا إِنۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ ضَرًّا أَوۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ نَفۡعَۢاۚ بَلۡ كَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرَۢا ١١
Those who remained behind1 of the bedouins will say to you, "Our properties and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He intended for you harm or intended for you benefit? Rather, ever is Allāh, of what you do, Aware.

48:12
بَلۡ ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن لَّن يَنقَلِبَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِيهِمۡ أَبَدٗا وَزُيِّنَ ذَٰلِكَ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَظَنَنتُمۡ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِ وَكُنتُمۡ قَوۡمَۢا بُورٗا ١٢
But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, ever, and that was made pleasing in your hearts. And you assumed an assumption of evil and became a people ruined."
48:13
وَمَن لَّمۡ يُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ فَإِنَّآ أَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ سَعِيرٗا ١٣
And whoever has not believed in Allāh and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze.
48:14
وَلِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ يَغۡفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا ١٤
And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
48:15
