قَالَ ٱللَّهُ هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ صِدۡقُهُمۡۚ لَهُمۡ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ رَّضِيَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ١١٩
Allāh will say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allāh being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment.

Commentary on 5:119
قرئ (هذا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ بالرفع والإضافة. وبالنصب إما على أنه ظرف لقال. وإما على أنّ (هذا) مبتدأ، والظرف خبر. ومعناه، هذا الذي ذكرنا من كلام عيسى واقع يوم ينفع. ولا يجوز أن يكون فتحا، كقوله تعالى: (يَوْمَ لا تَمْلِكُ) لأنه مضاف إلى متمكن، وقرأ الأعمش: يوم ينفع، بالتنوين، كقوله تعالى: (وَاتَّقُوا يَوْماً لا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ) فإن قلت: ما معنى قوله يَنْفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ؟ إن أريد صدقهم [[قال محمود «إن قلت ما معناه، إن أريد صدقهم في الآخرة ... الخ» قال أحمد: ولو أجاب بحمل الصادقين على الدنيا وصدقهم على الآخرة حتى يكون التقدير: هذا يوم ينفع الصادقين في الدنيا صدقهم في الآخرة، لكان أوضح طباقا لتفسير قتادة، وأخرج لإبليس وأشباهه من هذا العموم فان إبليس وإن صدق في الآخرة، إلا أنه لم يكن من الصادقين في الدنيا، فلم ينفعه صدقه في الآخرة، والوجهان متقاربان.]] في الآخرة فليست الآخرة بدار عمل، وإن أريد صدقهم في الدنيا فليس بمطابق لما ورد فيه لأنه في معنى الشهادة لعيسى عليه السلام بالصدق فيما يجيب به يوم القيامة؟ قلت: معناه الصدق المستمر بالصادقين في دنياهم وآخرتهم. وعن قتادة:
متكلمان تكلما يوم القيامة. أمّا إبليس فقال: إنّ اللَّه وعدكم وعد الحق، فصدق يومئذ وكان قبل ذلك كاذبا، فلم ينفعه صدقه. وأما عيسى عليه السلام فكان صادقا في الحياة وبعد الممات فنفعه صدقه.

5:114
قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ ٱللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَآ أَنزِلۡ عَلَيۡنَا مَآئِدَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدٗا لِّأَوَّلِنَا وَءَاخِرِنَا وَءَايَةٗ مِّنكَۖ وَٱرۡزُقۡنَا وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ ١١٤
Said Jesus, the son of Mary, "O Allāh, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers."
5:115
قَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّي مُنَزِّلُهَا عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ فَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بَعۡدُ مِنكُمۡ فَإِنِّيٓ أُعَذِّبُهُۥ عَذَابٗا لَّآ أُعَذِّبُهُۥٓ أَحَدٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ١١٥
Allāh said, "Indeed, I will send it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterwards from among you - then indeed will I punish him with a punishment by which I have not punished anyone among the worlds."
5:116
وَإِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أَقُولَ مَا لَيۡسَ لِي بِحَقٍّۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلۡتُهُۥ فَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَهُۥۚ تَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِي وَلَآ أَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِكَۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلۡغُيُوبِ ١١٦
And [beware the Day] when Allāh will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allāh?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.
5:117
مَا قُلۡتُ لَهُمۡ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرۡتَنِي بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمۡۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيدٗا مَّا دُمۡتُ فِيهِمۡۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ ١١٧
I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allāh, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.
5:118
إِن تُعَذِّبۡهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ عِبَادُكَۖ وَإِن تَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ١١٨
If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
5:119

5:120
لِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرُۢ ١٢٠
To Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. And He is over all things competent.
