بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
At-Tur 52:13

يَوۡمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ١٣
The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

Commentary on 52:13
وقوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) يقول تعالى ذكره: فويل للمكذبين يوم يُدَعُّونَ.
وقوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ ) ترجمة عن قوله: ( يَوْمَئِذٍ ) وإبدال منه. وعنى بقوله: ( يُدَعُّونَ ) يدفعون بإرهاق وإزعاج, يقال منه: دعَعْت في قفاه: إذا دفعت فيه.
وبنحو الذي قلنا في ذلك قال أهل التأويل.
* ذكر من قال ذلك:
حدثني سليمان بن عبد الجبار, قال: ثنا أبو كدينة, عن قابوس, عن أبيه, عن ابن عباس ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) قال: يدفع في أعناقهم حتى يردوا النار.
حدثني عليّ, قال: ثنا أبو صالح, قال: ثني معاوية, عن عليّ, عن ابن عباس , قوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) يقول: يدفعون.
حدثني محمد بن سعد, قال: ثني أبي, قال: ثني عمي, قال: ثني أبي, عن أبيه, عن ابن عباس, قوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) قال: يدفعون فيها دفعا.
حدثنا ابن حُمَيد, قال: ثنا يحيى بن واضح, قال: ثنا الحسين, عن يزيد, عن عكرمة ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) يقول: يدفعون إلى نار جهنم دفعا.
حدثني محمد بن عمرو, قال: ثنا أبو عاصم, قال: ثنا عيسى; وحدثني الحارث, قال: ثنا الحسن, قال: ثنا ورقاء جميعا, عن أبن أبي نجيح, عن مجاهد, في قوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ ) قال: يدفعون.
حدثنا بشر, قال: ثنا يزيد, قال: ثنا سعيد, عن قتادة ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) قال: يزعجون إليها إزعاجا.
حدثنا ابن عبد الأعلى, قال: ثنا ابن ثور, عن معمر, عن قتادة بنحوه.
حُدثت عن الحسين, قال: سمعت أبا معاذ, يقول: أخبرنا عبيد, قال: سمعت الضحاك يقول في قوله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) الدعّ: الدفع والإرهاق.
حدثني يونس, قال: أخبرنا ابن وهب, قال: قال ابن زيد, في قول الله: ( يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ) قال: يدفعون دفعا, وقرأ قول الله تبارك وتعالى : فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ قال: يدفعه, ويغلظ عليه.

51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ ٥٢
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ ٥٣
Did they suggest it to them?1 Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.

51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٖ ٥٤
So leave them, [O Muḥammad], for you are not to be blamed.
51:55
وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٥٥
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ ٥٦
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ ٥٧
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ ٥٨
Indeed, it is Allāh who is the [continual] Provider,1 the firm possessor of strength.

51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبٗا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ ٥٩
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions [i.e., predecessors], so let them not impatiently urge Me.
51:60
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ٦٠
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ ١
By the mount
52:2
وَكِتَٰبٖ مَّسۡطُورٖ ٢
And [by] a Book inscribed1

فِي رَقّٖ مَّنشُورٖ ٣
In parchment spread open
52:4
وَٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡمُورِ ٤
And [by] the frequented House1

52:5
وَٱلسَّقۡفِ ٱلۡمَرۡفُوعِ ٥
And [by] the ceiling [i.e., heaven] raised high
52:6
وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ ٱلۡمَسۡجُورِ ٦
And [by] the sea set on fire,1

52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٞ ٧
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٖ ٨
Of it there is no preventer.
52:9
يَوۡمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوۡرٗا ٩
On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ سَيۡرٗا ١٠
And the mountains will pass on, departing1 -

فَوَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ١١
Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي خَوۡضٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ ١٢
Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.
52:13
يَوۡمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ١٣
The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],
52:14
هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ١٤
"This is the Fire which you used to deny.
