بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ar-Rahman 55:68

فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ ٦٨
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.

Commentary on 55:68
وقال هناك : ( فيهما من كل فاكهة زوجان ) ، وقال هاهنا : ( فيهما فاكهة ونخل ورمان ) ، ولا شك أن الأولى أعم وأكثر في الأفراد والتنويع على فاكهة ، وهي نكرة في سياق الإثبات لا تعم ; ولهذا فسر قوله : ( ونخل ورمان ) من باب عطف الخاص على العام ، كما قرره البخاري وغيره ، وإنما أفرد النخل والرمان بالذكر لشرفهما على غيرهما .
قال عبد بن حميد : حدثنا يحيى بن عبد الحميد ، حدثنا حصين بن عمر ، حدثنا مخارق ، عن طارق بن شهاب ، عن عمر بن الخطاب قال : جاء أناس من اليهود إلى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فقالوا : يا محمد ، أفي الجنة فاكهة ؟ قال : " نعم ، فيها فاكهة ونخل ورمان " . قالوا : أفيأكلون كما يأكلون في الدنيا ؟ قال : " نعم وأضعاف " . قالوا : فيقضون الحوائج ؟ قال : " لا ولكنهم يعرقون ويرشحون ، فيذهب الله ما في بطونهم من أذى " .
وقال ابن أبي حاتم : حدثنا أبي حدثنا الفضل بن دكين ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن حماد ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس قال : نخل الجنة سعفها كسوة لأهل الجنة ، منها مقطعاتهم ، ومنها حللهم ، وكربها ذهب أحمر ، وجذوعها زمرد أخضر ، وثمرها أحلى من العسل ، وألين من الزبد ، وليس له عجم .
وحدثنا أبي : حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل ، حدثنا حماد - هو ابن سلمة - عن أبي هارون ، عن أبي سعيد الخدري ، أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال : " نظرت إلى الجنة فإذا الرمانة من رمانها كمثل البعير المقتب " .

55:68
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ ٦٨
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
55:69
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٩
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
55:70
فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ ٧٠
In them are good and beautiful women -
55:71
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧١
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
55:72
حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ ٧٢
Fair ones reserved in pavilions -
55:73
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٣
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
55:74
لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ ٧٤
Untouched before them by man or jinnī -
55:75
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٥
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
55:76
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٖ وَعَبۡقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٖ ٧٦
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
55:77
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٧
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
55:78
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ٧٨
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
سورة الواقعة
Al-Waqi'ah
The Inevitable · Meccan · 96 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
56:1
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ ١
When the Occurrence occurs,
56:2
لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ٢
There is, at its occurrence, no denial.
56:3
خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ ٣
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].1

إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا ٤
When the earth is shaken with convulsion
56:5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا ٥
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
56:6
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا ٦
And become dust dispersing,
56:7
وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ ٧
And you become [of] three kinds:
56:8
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ ٨
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?1

56:9
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ ٩
And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?1

56:10
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ١٠
And the forerunners, the forerunners1 -

- The words can also be understood as a complete sentence, i.e., "The forerunners [in good deeds] are the forerunners [in entering Paradise]." ↩
56:11
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ ١١
Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]
56:12
فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ١٢
In the Gardens of Pleasure,
56:13
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ١٣
A [large] company of the former peoples
56:14
وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ ١٤
And a few of the later peoples,
56:15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ ١٥
On thrones woven [with ornament],
56:16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ ١٦
Reclining on them, facing each other.
