بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٧
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

Commentary on 55:7
وقوله - تعالى - : ( والسمآء رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الميزان . . . ) أى : والسماء أوجدها بقدرته مرفوعة بدون أعمدة ، وأنتم ترون ذلك بأعينكم .فالمقصود بقوله ( رَفَعَهَا ) لفت الأنظار إلى مظاهر قدرته - تعالى - ، وإلى وجوب شكره وإخلاص العبادة له ، والتزام طاعته .والميزان : يطلق على الآلة التى يزن الناس بها ما يريدون وزنه من الأشياء المختلفة .والمراد به هنا : وجوب التزام العدل فى الأحكام ، وشاع إطلاق الميزان على العدل فى الأحكام ، لأن كليهما تضبط به الأحكام ، وتنال الحقوق . أى : والسماء خلقها مرفوعة ابتداء ، وشرع وأثبت العدل وأمر باتباعه فى الأقوال والأحكام ، ليستقيم أمر الناس .قال الآلوسى ما ملخصه : قوله : ( وَوَضَعَ الميزان ) أى : شرع العدل وأمر به ، لينتظم أمر العالم ويستقيم ، كما قال - صلى الله عليه وسلم - : " بالعدل قامت السموات والأرض " أى : بقيتا على أتقن نظام . . . وتفسير الميزان بالعدل ، هو المروى عن مجاهد ، والطبرى ، والأكثرين ، وهو مستعار للعدل استعارة تصريحية .وعن ابن عباس والحسن وقتادة ، أن المراد بالميزان ما تعرف به مقادير الأشياء ، وهو الآلة المسماة بهذا الاسم . . أى : أوجده فى الأرض ليضبط الناس معاملاتهم فى أخذهم وعطائهم .

54:50
وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ ٥٠
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.
54:51
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٥١
And We have already destroyed your kinds,1 so is there any who will remember?

54:52
وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ ٥٢
And everything they did is in written records.
54:53
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ ٥٣
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.
54:54
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ ٥٤
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,
54:55
فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ ٥٥
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.1

55:1
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ١
The Most Merciful
55:2
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٢
Taught the Qur’ān,
55:3
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ٣
Created man,
55:4
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ ٤
[And] taught him eloquence.
55:5
ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ ٥
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
55:6
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ ٦
And the stars and trees prostrate.1

55:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٧
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
55:8
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡمِيزَانِ ٨
That you not transgress within the balance.
55:9
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٩
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
55:10
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ ١٠
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
55:11
فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ ١١
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
55:12
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ ١٢
And grain having husks and scented plants.
55:13
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٣
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?1

55:14
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ ١٤
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
55:15
وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ ١٥
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
55:16
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٦
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
