Al-An'am 6:90

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُۖ فَبِهُدَىٰهُمُ ٱقۡتَدِهۡۗ قُل لَّآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ أَجۡرًاۖ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٩٠
Those are the ones whom Allāh has guided, so from their guidance take an example. Say, "I ask of you for it [i.e., this message] no payment. It is not but a reminder for the worlds."

Commentary on 6:90
{ أُولَئِكَ } المذكورون { الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهِ } أي: امش -أيها الرسول الكريم- خلف هؤلاء الأنبياء الأخيار، واتبع ملتهم وقد امتثل صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاهتدى بهدي الرسل قبله، وجمع كل كمال فيهم. فاجتمعت لديه فضائل وخصائص، فاق بها جميع العالمين، وكان سيد المرسلين، وإمام المتقين، صلوات الله وسلامه عليه وعليهم أجمعين، وبهذا الملحظ، استدل بهذه من استدل من الصحابة، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أفضل الرسل كلهم. { قُلْ } للذين أعرضوا عن دعوتك: { لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا } أي: لا أطلب منكم مغرما ومالا، جزاء عن إبلاغي إياكم، ودعوتي لكم فيكون من أسباب امتناعكم، إن أجري إلا على الله. { إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْعَالَمِينَ } يتذكرون به ما ينفعهم، فيفعلونه، وما يضرهم، فيذرونه، ويتذكرون به معرفة ربهم بأسمائه وأوصافه. ويتذكرون به الأخلاق الحميدة، والطرق الموصلة إليها، والأخلاق الرذيلة، والطرق المفضية إليها، فإذا كان ذكرى للعالمين، كان أعظم نعمة أنعم الله بها عليهم، فعليهم قبولها والشكر عليها.

6:82
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَمۡ يَلۡبِسُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنَهُم بِظُلۡمٍ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَمۡنُ وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ ٨٢
They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice1 - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided.

6:83
وَتِلۡكَ حُجَّتُنَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦۚ نَرۡفَعُ دَرَجَٰتٖ مَّن نَّشَآءُۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞ ٨٣
And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.
6:84
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَۚ كُلًّا هَدَيۡنَاۚ وَنُوحًا هَدَيۡنَا مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِۦ دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُوسُفَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ٨٤
And We gave to him [i.e., Abraham] Isaac and Jacob - all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good.
6:85
وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحۡيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلۡيَاسَۖ كُلّٞ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ٨٥
And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous.
6:86
وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلۡيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطٗاۚ وَكُلّٗا فَضَّلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٨٦
And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds.
6:87
وَمِنۡ ءَابَآئِهِمۡ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمۡ وَإِخۡوَٰنِهِمۡۖ وَٱجۡتَبَيۡنَٰهُمۡ وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ ٨٧
And [some] among their fathers and their descendants and their brothers - and We chose them and We guided them to a straight path.
6:88
ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۚ وَلَوۡ أَشۡرَكُواْ لَحَبِطَ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٨٨
That is the guidance of Allāh by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allāh, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.
6:89
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحُكۡمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَۚ فَإِن يَكۡفُرۡ بِهَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ فَقَدۡ وَكَّلۡنَا بِهَا قَوۡمٗا لَّيۡسُواْ بِهَا بِكَٰفِرِينَ ٨٩
Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture and authority and prophethood. But if they [i.e., the disbelievers] deny it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not therein disbelievers.
6:90
