بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-A'raf 7:11

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ ثُمَّ صَوَّرۡنَٰكُمۡ ثُمَّ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ لَمۡ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ ١١
And We have certainly created you, [O mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees.1 He was not of those who prostrated.

Commentary on 7:11–18
﴿خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ﴾ قيل: المعنى أردنا خلقكم وتصويركم ﴿ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاۤئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُواْ لأَدَمَ﴾ وقيل: خلقنا أباكم آدم ثم صورناه، وإنما احتيج إلى التأويل ليصح العطف ﴿أَلاَّ تَسْجُدَ﴾ لا زائدة للتوكيد ﴿إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ﴾ استدل به بعض الأصوليين على أن الأمر يقتضي الوجوب والفور، ولذلك وقع العقاب على ترك المبادرة بالسجود ﴿قَالَ أَنَاْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ﴾ تعليلٌ علَّلَ به إبليس امتناعه من السجود، وهو يقتضي الاعتراض على الله تعالى في أمره بسجود الفاضل للمفضول على زعمه، وبهذا الاعتراض كفر إبليس إذ لليس كفره كفر جحود ﴿فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا﴾ أي من السماء ﴿قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِي﴾ الفاء للتعليل، وهي تتعلق بفعل قسم محذوف تقديره: أقسم بالله بسبب إغوائك لي لأغوين بني آدم، وما مصدرية، وقيل: استفهامية ويبطله ثبوت الألف في ما مع حرف الجر ﴿صِرَٰطَكَ﴾ يريد: طريق الهدى والخير وهو منصوب على الظرفية ﴿ثُمَّ لآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِّن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ﴾ الآية: أي من الجهات الأربع، وذلك عبارة عن تسليطه على بني آدم كيفما أمكنه، وقال ابن عباس: من بين أيديهم الدنيا، ومن خلفهم الآخرة، وعن أيمانهم الحسنات، وعن شمائلهم السيئات ﴿مَذْءُوماً﴾ من ذأمه بالهمز إذا ذمه ﴿مَّدْحُوراً﴾ أي مطروداً حيث وقع.

7:1
الٓمٓصٓ ١

7:2
كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِي صَدۡرِكَ حَرَجٞ مِّنۡهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٢
[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muḥammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers.
7:3
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۗ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٣
Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
7:4
وَكَم مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأۡسُنَا بَيَٰتًا أَوۡ هُمۡ قَآئِلُونَ ٤
And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.
7:5
فَمَا كَانَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ إِذۡ جَآءَهُم بَأۡسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ٥
And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!"
7:6
فَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرۡسِلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ٦
Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.
7:7
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيۡهِم بِعِلۡمٖۖ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ ٧
Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent.
7:8
وَٱلۡوَزۡنُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡحَقُّۚ فَمَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ٨
And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful.
7:9
وَمَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَظۡلِمُونَ ٩
And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.
7:10
وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَۗ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ١٠
And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.
7:11
