Al-A'raf 7:159

وَمِن قَوۡمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٞ يَهۡدُونَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعۡدِلُونَ ١٥٩
And among the people of Moses is a community1 which guides by truth and by it establishes justice.

Commentary on 7:159
قوله - عز وجل - : ( ومن قوم موسى ) يعني : بني إسرائيل ( أمة ) أي : جماعة ، ( يهدون بالحق ) أي : يرشدون ويدعون إلى الحق . وقيل : معناه يهتدون ويستقيمون عليه ، ( وبه يعدلون ) أي : بالحق يحكمون وبالعدل يقومون . قال الكلبي والضحاك والربيع : هم قوم خلف الصين ، بأقصى الشرق على نهر يجري الرمل يسمى نهر أوداف ، ليس لأحد منهم مال دون صاحبه ، يمطرون بالليل ويصحون بالنهار ، ويزرعون حتى لا يصل إليهم منا أحد ، وهم على الحق .
وذكر : أن جبرائيل عليه السلام ذهب بالنبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ليلة أسري به ، فكلمهم فقال لهم جبريل : هل تعرفون من تكلمون؟ قالوا : لا فقال لهم : هذا محمد النبي الأمي فآمنوا به فقالوا : يا رسول الله إن موسى عليه السلام أوصانا أن من أدرك منكم أحمد فليقرأ عليه منا السلام ، فرد النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - على موسى وعليهم ، ثم أقرأهم عشر سور من القرآن أنزلت بمكة ، وأمرهم بالصلاة والزكاة ، وأمرهم أن يقيموا مكانهم ، وكانوا يسبتون ، فأمرهم أن يجمعوا ويتركوا السبت .
وقيل : هم الذين أسلموا من اليهود في زمن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - . والأول أصح .

7:156
۞ وَٱكۡتُبۡ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَۚ قَالَ عَذَابِيٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنۡ أَشَآءُۖ وَرَحۡمَتِي وَسِعَتۡ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖۚ فَسَأَكۡتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ١٥٦
And decree for us in this world [that which is] good and [also] in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned back to You." [Allāh] said, "My punishment - I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakāh and those who believe in Our verses-
7:157
ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِيَّ ٱلۡأُمِّيَّ ٱلَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكۡتُوبًا عِندَهُمۡ فِي ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلِ يَأۡمُرُهُم بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَيَنۡهَىٰهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡخَبَٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنۡهُمۡ إِصۡرَهُمۡ وَٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِي كَانَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُواْ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ١٥٧
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written [i.e., described] in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and prohibits them from what is wrong and makes lawful for them what is good and forbids them from what is evil and relieves them of their burden1 and the shackles which were upon them.2 So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
7:158
قُلۡ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ فَـَٔامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ ٱلۡأُمِّيِّ ٱلَّذِي يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ ١٥٨
Say, [O Muḥammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allāh to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allāh and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allāh and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
7:159
