فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ وَأَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمًا عَمِينَ ٦٤
But they denied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind people.1

Commentary on 7:64
لقد صرحت السورة الكريمة بأن موقفهم كان قبيحا ، ولذا عوقبوا بما يناسب جرمهم قال - تعالى - : ( فَكَذَّبُوهُ ) أى : فكذب قوم نوح نبيهم ومرشدهم نوحا ، وأصروا على التكذيب مع أنه دعاهم إلى الهدى ليلا ونهاراً ، وسراً وجهاراً ، ومع أنه مكث فيهم " ألف سنة إلا خمسين عاما " كانت نتيجة ذلك - كما حكى القرآن :( فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ والذين مَعَهُ فِي الفلك ) أى : فأنجيناه من الغرق هو والذين آمنوا معه بأن حملناهم فى السفينة التى صنعها . والفاء فى ( فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ ) للسببية .قيل كان عدد الذين آمنوا معه أربعين رجلا وأربعين امرأة . وقيل غير ذلك . والقرآن قد صرح بأن المؤمنين به كانوا قلة ، فقال : ( وَمَآ آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ ) ( وَأَغْرَقْنَا الذين كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماً عَمِينَ ) عمين : جمع عم صفة مشبهة ، يقال : هو عم - كفرح - لأعمى البصيرة .أى : وأغرقنا بالطوفان أولئك الذين كذبوا بآياتنا من قوم نوح لأنهم كانوا قوماً عمى البصائر عن الحق والإيمان لا تنفع فيهم المواعظ ولم يجد معهم التذكير .

7:58
وَٱلۡبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخۡرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَٱلَّذِي خَبُثَ لَا يَخۡرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوۡمٖ يَشۡكُرُونَ ٥٨
And the good land - its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad - nothing emerges except sparsely, with difficulty. Thus do We diversify the signs for a people who are grateful.
7:59
لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥٓ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ ٥٩
We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day."
7:60
قَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ ٦٠
Said the eminent among his people, "Indeed, we see you in clear error."
7:61
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ لَيۡسَ بِي ضَلَٰلَةٞ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٦١
[Noah] said, "O my people, there is not error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.
7:62
أُبَلِّغُكُمۡ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّي وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمۡ وَأَعۡلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٦٢
I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you; and I know from Allāh what you do not know.
7:63
أَوَعَجِبۡتُمۡ أَن جَآءَكُمۡ ذِكۡرٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنكُمۡ لِيُنذِرَكُمۡ وَلِتَتَّقُواْ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ ٦٣
Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you and that you may fear Allāh so you might receive mercy?"
7:64
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ وَأَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمًا عَمِينَ ٦٤

7:65
۞ وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمۡ هُودٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥٓۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ٦٥
And to the ʿAad [We sent] their brother Hūd. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?"
7:66
قَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِي سَفَاهَةٖ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ ٦٦
Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars."
7:67
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ لَيۡسَ بِي سَفَاهَةٞ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٦٧
[Hūd] said, "O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.
