بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَ ٤٩
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

Commentary on 74:49–51
* الإعراب:
(ما) اسم استفهام في محلّ رفع مبتدأ (لهم) متعلّق بمحذوف خبر (عن التذكرة) متعلّق ب (معرضين) وهو حال منصوبة من الضمير في (لهم) ، (من قسورة) متعلّق ب (فرّت) .
جملة: «ما لهم ... » لا محلّ لها استئنافيّة.
وجملة: «كأنّهم حمر ... » في محلّ نصب حال من الضمير في معرضين فهي حال متداخلة.
وجملة: «فرّت ... » في محلّ رفع نعت ثان لحمر [[أو محلّ نصب حال من حمر لتخصّصه بالوصف بتقدير قد بحذف مضاف أي وقت مشيئة الله، متعلّق ب (يذكرون) .]] .
* الصرف:
(50) مستنفرة: مؤنّث مستنفر، اسم فاعل من السداسيّ استنفر، وزنه مستفعل بضمّ الميم وكسر العين.
(51) قسورة: اسم جامد بمعنى الأسد، أو اسم جمع بمعنى الجماعة الرماة لا واحد له من لفظه.. وعند العرب كلّ ضخم شديد فهو قسورة، وزنه فعللة، بفتح فسكون.
* البلاغة:
التشبيه المرسل: في قوله تعالى «كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ» .
شبههم في إعراضهم عن القرآن، واستماع الذكر والموعظة، بحمر فرّت من حظيرتها، مما أفزعها. وفي تشبيههم بالحمر: مذمة ظاهرة، وتهجين لحالهم بيّن، كما في قوله تعالى: «كَمَثَلِ الْحِمارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفاراً» ، وشهادة عليهم بالبله وقلة العقل، ولا ترى مثل نفار حمير الوحش واطرادها في العدو إذا رابها رائب.

74:48
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ ٤٨
So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
74:49
فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَ ٤٩
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
74:50
كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرٞ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةٞ ٥٠
As if they were alarmed donkeys
74:51
فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭ ٥١
Fleeing from a lion?
74:52
بَلۡ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفٗا مُّنَشَّرَةٗ ٥٢
Rather, every person among them desires that he1 would be given scriptures spread about.2
74:53
كـَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ ٥٣
No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
74:54
كـَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةٞ ٥٤
No! Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a reminder
74:55
فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ٥٥
Then whoever wills will remember it.
74:56
وَمَا يَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ ٥٦
And they will not remember except that Allāh wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

Al-Qiyamah
The Resurrection · Meccan · 40 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
75:1
لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ١
I swear by the Day of Resurrection
75:2
وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ ٢
And I swear by the reproaching soul1 [to the certainty of resurrection].

75:3
أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجۡمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ ٣
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُۥ ٤
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
75:5
بَلۡ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفۡجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ ٥
But man desires to continue in sin.1

75:6
يَسۡـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ٦
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ ٧
So when vision is dazzled
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلۡقَمَرُ ٨
And the moon darkens
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ ٩
And the sun and the moon are joined,
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ أَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَفَرُّ ١٠
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"
75:11
كـَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ ١١
No! There is no refuge.
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقَرُّ ١٢
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُاْ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ ١٣
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead1 and kept back.2
75:14
بَلِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٞ ١٤
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,1

75:15
وَلَوۡ أَلۡقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ ١٥
Even if he presents his excuses.
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهِۦٓ ١٦
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهُۥ وَقُرۡءَانَهُۥ ١٧
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأۡنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعۡ قُرۡءَانَهُۥ ١٨
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهُۥ ١٩
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].
