Commentary on 82:1
سورة الانفطار
هي تسع عشرة آية وهي مكية بلا خلاف وقال ابن عباس نزلت بمكة وعن ابن الزبير مثله، وأخرج النسائي عن جابر قال: " قام معاذ فصلى العشاء فطول فقال النبي - صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم - " أفتّان أنت يا معاذ أين أنت عن سبح اسم ربك، والضحى، وإذا السماء انفطرت " وأصل الحديث في الصحيحين ولكن بدون ذكر إذا السماء انفطرت وقد تفرد بها النسائي، وقد تقدم في سورة التكوير حديث " من سره أن ينظر إلى يوم القيامة رأي عين فليقرأ إذا الشمس كورت، وإذا السماء انفطرت " الحديث.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ (1) وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ (2) وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ (3) وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ (4) عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ (5) يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ (6) الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ (7) فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ (8)
(إذا السماء انفطرت) السماء فاعل فعل محذوف يدل عليه المذكور، قال الواحدي قال المفسرون انفطارها انشقاقها كقوله (ويوم تشقق السماء بالغمام وتنزل الملائكة تنزيلاً) والفطر الشق يقال فطرته فانفطر، ومنه فطر ناب البعير إذا طلع، قيل والمراد أنها انفطرت هنا لنزول الملائكة منها وقيل انفطرت لهيبة الله عز وجل.

Al-Infitar

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
82:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ ١
When the sky breaks apart
82:2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ ٢
And when the stars fall, scattering,
82:3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ ٣
And when the seas are erupted
82:4
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ ٤
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],
82:5
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ ٥
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
82:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ ٦
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
82:7
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ٧
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
82:8
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
82:9
كـَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ ٩
No! But you deny the Recompense.
82:10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ ١٠
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,1

82:11
كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ ١١
Noble and recording;
82:12
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ ١٢
They know whatever you do.
82:13
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ ١٣
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
82:14
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ ١٤
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
82:15
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ ١٥
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
82:16
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ ١٦
And never therefrom will they be absent.
82:17
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٧
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٨
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:19
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ ١٩
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.
سورة المطففين
Al-Mutaffifin
The Defrauding · Meccan · 36 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
83:1
وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ ١
Woe to those who give less [than due],1

- i.e., those who cheat people by giving them less than what they paid for when weighing or measuring - an amount so little as to hardly be noticed. ↩
83:2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ ٢
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.
83:3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ ٣
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.
83:4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ ٤
Do they not think that they will be resurrected
83:5
لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ ٥
For a tremendous Day -
83:6
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٦
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?
