بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-Infitar 82:8

فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

Commentary on 82:8
ولَمّا أضاءَ بِهَذا إضاءَةَ الشَّمْسِ أنَّهُ عَظِيمُ القُدْرَةِ عَلى كُلِّ ما يُرِيدُ، أنْتَجَ قَوْلَهُ مُعَلِّقًا بِ ”رَكِبَ“: ﴿فِي أيِّ صُورَةٍ﴾ مِنَ الصُّوَرِ الَّتِي تَعْرِفُها والَّتِي لا تَعْرِفُها مِنَ الدَّوابِّ والطُّيُورِ وغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ [ مِنَ الحَيَوانِ- ]، ولَمّا كانَ المُرادُ تَقْرِيرَ المَعْنى غايَةَ التَّقْرِيرِ، أثْبَتَ النّافِي في سِياقِ الإثْباتِ لِيَنْتَفِيَ ضِدَّ ما أثْبَتَهُ الكَلامُ فَيَصِيرُ ثَباتُ المَعْنى عَلى غايَةٍ [مِنَ - ] القُوَّةِ الَّتِي لا مَزِيدَ عَلَيْها، [فَقالَ- ]: ﴿ما شاءَ رَكَّبَكَ﴾ أيْ ألَّفَ تَرْكِيبَ أعْضائِكَ وجَمَعَ الرُّوحَ إلى البَدَنِ، رَوى الطَّبَرانِيُّ في مَعاجِمِهِ الثَّلاثَةِ بِرِجالٍ ثِقاتٍ عَنْ مالِكِ بْنِ الحُوَيْرِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إذا أرادَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ اسْمُهُ أنْ يَخْلُقَ النَّسَمَةَ فَجامَعَ الرَّجُلُ المَرْأةَ طارَ ماؤُهُ في [كُلِّ - ] عِرْقٍ وعَصَبَ مِنها، فَلَمّا كانَ اليَوْمُ السّابِعُ أحْضَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ كُلَّ عِرْقٍ بَيْنَهُ وبَيْنَ آدَمَ، ثُمَّ [قَرَأ - ] ﴿فِي أيِّ صُورَةٍ ما شاءَ رَكَّبَكَ﴾» فَتَحَرَّرَ بِهَذا أنَّ الإنْسانَ رَقِيقٌ رِقًّا لازِمًا، ومَن خَلَعَ رِبْقَةَ ذَلِكَ الرِّقِّ اللّازِمِ وُكِّلَ إلى نَفْسِهِ فَهَلَكَ.

Al-Infitar

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
82:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ ١
When the sky breaks apart
82:2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ ٢
And when the stars fall, scattering,
82:3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ ٣
And when the seas are erupted
82:4
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ ٤
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],
82:5
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ ٥
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
82:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ ٦
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
82:7
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ٧
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
82:8
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
82:9
كـَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ ٩
No! But you deny the Recompense.
82:10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ ١٠
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,1

82:11
كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ ١١
Noble and recording;
82:12
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ ١٢
They know whatever you do.
82:13
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ ١٣
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
82:14
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ ١٤
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
82:15
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ ١٥
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
82:16
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ ١٦
And never therefrom will they be absent.
82:17
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٧
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٨
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:19
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ ١٩
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.
سورة المطففين
Al-Mutaffifin
The Defrauding · Meccan · 36 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
83:1
وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ ١
Woe to those who give less [than due],1

- i.e., those who cheat people by giving them less than what they paid for when weighing or measuring - an amount so little as to hardly be noticed. ↩
83:2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ ٢
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.
83:3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ ٣
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.
83:4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ ٤
Do they not think that they will be resurrected
83:5
لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ ٥
For a tremendous Day -
83:6
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٦
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?
