﴿وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ﴾ قالوا: سمعت لربها وأطاعت في الانشقاق [[قال بذلك: قتادة، وابن عباس، وسعيد، ومجاهد، والضحاك، والسدي.

وقال به أيضًا: السمرقندي في "بحر العلوم" 3/ 460، والثعلبي في "الكشف والبيان" ج: 13/ 58/ أ، والما وردي في: "النكت والعيون" 6/ 233. == وانظر أيضًا: "معالم التنزيل" 4/ 463، "المحرر الوجيز" 5/ 456، "زاد المسير" 8/ 209، "الجامع لأحكام القرآن" 19/ 267، "لباب التأويل" 4/ 363، "تفسير القرآن العظيم" 4/ 521.]]. من الأذن، وهو الاستماع للشيء، والإصغاء إليه، وأنشد أبو عبيدة [[في (أ): أبو عبيد.]] [["مجاز القرآن" 2/ 291 ونسب بيت الشعر إلى رؤبة.]]، و (المبرد [["التفسير الكبير" 31/ 104.]]، والزجاج [["معاني القرآن وإعرابه" 5/ 303]] [[ما بين القوسين ساقط من (أ).]] قول قعنب:
صُمُّ إذا سَمِعوا خيراً ذُكِرْتُ به ... وإذا ذُكِرْتُ بُسوءٍ أَذِنوا [[ورد البيت أيضًا في: ديوان الحماسة (شرح التبريزي): 2/ 187 منسوبًا إلى قعنب. معناه: صم .. إلخ: أي: هم صم، وأذنوا .. إلى آخر البيت: بمعنى استمعوا، والمعنى أنهم يميلون إلى ما يصل إلى آذانهم من الهجو فيه، ويرتاحون إليه، وينحرفون عما يصل إليها من المدح له، وينفرون منه.

وقوله: ﴿حَقَّت﴾ أي وحُقَّ لها أن تطيع ربها [[في (أ): فيها، بدلاً من: ربها.]] الذي خلقها [[وهذا قول الضحاك، وقتادة، والسدي.

عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ٣٥
On adorned couches, observing.
83:36
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ ٣٦
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ ١
When the sky has split [open]
84:2
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ٢
And has listened [i.e., responded]1 to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ ٣
And when the earth has been extended1

84:4
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ ٤
And has cast out that within it1 and relinquished [it]

84:5
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ٥
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] –
84:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ ٦
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion1 and will meet it.2
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ٧
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
84:8
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا ٨
He will be judged with an easy account
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا ٩
And return to his people in happiness.
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ ١٠
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
84:11
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا ١١
He will cry out for destruction
84:12
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا ١٢
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا ١٣
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ ١٤
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allāh].
84:15
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا ١٥
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever, of him, Seeing.
84:16
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ ١٦
So I swear by the twilight glow
84:17
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ ١٧
And [by] the night and what it envelops
84:18
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ ١٨
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
84:19
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ ١٩
[That] you will surely embark upon [i.e., experience] state after state.1

84:20
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٢٠
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ ٢١
And when the Qur’ān is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allāh]?
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ ٢٢
But those who have disbelieved deny,
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ٢٣
And Allāh is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
84:24
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ٢٤
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ ٢٥
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
