بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ٢٣
And Allāh is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.

﴿وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یُوعُونَ ٢٣﴾ - تفسير
٨٢٣٤٦- عن عبد الله بن عباس، في قوله: ﴿واللَّهُ أعْلَمُ بِما يُوعُونَ﴾، قال: يُسِرُّون[[أخرجه ابن أبي حاتم -كما في فتح الباري ٨/٦٩٧-. وعزاه السيوطي إلى ابن المنذر.]]. (١٥/٣٢٥)
٨٢٣٤٧- عن مجاهد بن جبر -من طريق ابن أبي نجيح- ﴿واللَّهُ أعْلَمُ بِما يُوعُونَ﴾، قال: يكتمون[[تفسير مجاهد ص٧١٦، وأخرجه ابن جرير ٢٤/٢٥٧. وعزاه السيوطي إلى عبد بن حميد.]]. (١٥/٣٢٦)
٨٢٣٤٨- عن قتادة بن دعامة -من طريق معمر- ﴿بِما يُوعُونَ﴾، قال: في صدورهم[[أخرجه عبد الرزاق ٢/٣٦٠، وابن جرير ٢٤/٢٥٨.]]. (١٥/٣٢٦)
٨٢٣٤٩- قال مقاتل بن سليمان: ﴿واللَّهُ أعْلَمُ بِما يُوعُونَ﴾، يقول: بما يُجْمِعون عليه من الإثم والفسوق[[تفسير مقاتل بن سليمان ٤/٦٤٠.]]. (ز)
٨٢٣٥٠- قال عبد الرحمن بن زيد بن أسلم -من طريق ابن وهب- في قوله: ﴿واللَّهُ أعْلَمُ بِما يُوعُونَ﴾، قال: المرء يوعي متاعه وماله؛ هذا في هذا، وهذا في هذا، هكذا يعرف الله ما يوعون من الأعمال، والأعمال السيئة مما توعيه قلوبهم، ويجتمع فيها من هذه الأعمال الخير والشر، فالقلوب وعاء هذه الأعمال كلّها الخير والشر، يعلم ما يُسرُّون وما يُعلنون، ولقد وعى لكم ما لا يدري أحد ما هو مِن القرآن وغير ذلك، فاتقوا الله وإيّاكم أن تدخلوا على مكارم هذه الأعمال بعض هذا الخبث ما يُفسدها[[أخرجه ابن جرير ٢٤/٢٥٨.]]. عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ٣٥
On adorned couches, observing.
83:36
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ ٣٦
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ ١
When the sky has split [open]
84:2
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ٢
And has listened [i.e., responded]1 to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ ٣
And when the earth has been extended1

84:4
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ ٤
And has cast out that within it1 and relinquished [it]

84:5
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ٥
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] –
84:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ ٦
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion1 and will meet it.2
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ٧
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
84:8
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا ٨
He will be judged with an easy account
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا ٩
And return to his people in happiness.
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ ١٠
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
84:11
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا ١١
He will cry out for destruction
84:12
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا ١٢
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا ١٣
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ ١٤
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allāh].
84:15
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا ١٥
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever, of him, Seeing.
84:16
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ ١٦
So I swear by the twilight glow
84:17
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ ١٧
And [by] the night and what it envelops
84:18
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ ١٨
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
84:19
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ ١٩
[That] you will surely embark upon [i.e., experience] state after state.1

فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٢٠
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ ٢١
And when the Qur’ān is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allāh]?
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ ٢٢
But those who have disbelieved deny,
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ٢٣
And Allāh is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
84:24
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ٢٤
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ ٢٥
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
