بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-Kawthar 108:2

فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنۡحَرۡ ٢
So pray to your Lord and offer sacrifice [to Him alone].

Commentary on 108:2
﴿فصل﴾: الفاء حرف عطف للتعقيب، وصل: فعل أمر مبني على حذف حرف العلة، وفاعله مستتر تقديره أنت.
﴿لربك﴾: اللام حرف جر، ورب اسم مجرور باللام وعلامة جره الكسرة، ورب مضاف، والكاف ضمير مبني على الفتح في محل جر مضاف إليه، والجار والمجرور متعلقان بـ﴿صل﴾.
﴿وانحر﴾: الواو حرف عطف، وانحر فعل أمر مبني على السكون، وفاعله مستتر تقديره أنت، وجملة ﴿صل...﴾ لا محل لها من الإعراب معطوفة على سابقتها عند من يجيز عطف الإنشاء على الخبر، أو معطوفة على جملة مستأنفة لا محل لها من الإعراب، أي: انتبه فصل، وجملة ﴿انحر﴾ معطوفة على جملة ﴿صل﴾ لا محل لها من الإعراب.

Quraysh
Quraysh · Meccan · 4 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
106:1
لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ١
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh1 -

- i.e., the honor and reputation Allāh had given them as guardians of the Holy Kaʿbah, which allowed them to travel without fear of being harmed. ↩
106:2
إِۦلَٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ ٢
Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer1 -

- i.e., the trading caravans that traveled south in winter and north in summer. ↩
106:3
فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٣
Let them worship the Lord of this House,1

106:4
ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٖ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ ٤
Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.
سورة الماعون
Al-Ma'un
The Small kindnesses · Meccan · 7 ayahs
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
107:1
أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ ١
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
107:2
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ ٢
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
107:3
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ ٣
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
107:4
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ ٤
So woe to those who pray
107:5
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ ٥
[But] who are heedless of their prayer1 -

- i.e., the hypocrites who are unconcerned if they miss prayers when no one sees them. ↩
107:6
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ ٦
Those who make show [of their deeds]
107:7
وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ ٧
And withhold [simple] assistance.
سورة الكوثر
Al-Kawthar

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
108:1
إِنَّآ أَعۡطَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡكَوۡثَرَ ١
Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muḥammad], al-Kawthar.
108:2
فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنۡحَرۡ ٢
So pray to your Lord and offer sacrifice [to Him alone].
108:3
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ ٣
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.1
