إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٞ فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡ أَحَدِهِم مِّلۡءُ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَهَبٗا وَلَوِ ٱفۡتَدَىٰ بِهِۦٓۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ٩١
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

Commentary on 3:91
وَتَقَدَّمَ اخْتِلافُهم في نَقْلِ ﴿مِلْءُ الأرْضِ﴾ مِن بابِ نَقْلِ حَرَكَةِ الهَمْزَةِ.
(واخْتَلَفُوا) فِي: ﴿حَجَّ البَيْتَ﴾ [البقرة: ١٥٨] فَقَرَأ أبُو جَعْفَرٍ وحَمْزَةُ والكِسائِيُّ وخَلَفٌ وحَفْصٌ بِكَسْرِ الحاءِ، وقَرَأ الباقُونَ بِفَتْحِها
وَتَقَدَّمَ مَذْهَبُ الكِسائِيِّ في إمالَةِ تُقاتِهِ ومَذْهَبُ الأزْرَقِ في بَيْنَ بَيْنَ مِن بابِ الإمالَةِ
وَتَقَدَّمَ تَشْدِيدُ البَزِّيِّ لِتاءِ (وَلا تَفَرَّقُوا) واخْتِلافُهم في ﴿تُرْجَعُ الأُمُورُ﴾ [البقرة: ٢١٠] مِنَ البَقَرَةِ
وَتَقَدَّمَ إمالَةُ الدُورِيِّ عَنِ الكِسائِيِّ ﴿يُسارِعُونَ﴾ [آل عمران: ١٧٦] ﴿وَسارِعُوا﴾ [آل عمران: ١٣٣] وما جاءَ مِنهُ في بابِ الإمالَةِ.
(واخْتَلَفُوا) فِي: وما تَفْعَلُوا مِن خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ تُكْفَرُوهُ فَقَرَأ حَمْزَةُ والكِسائِيُّ وخَلَفٌ وحَفْصٌ بِالغَيْبِ فِيها، واخْتُلِفَ عَنِ الدُورِيِّ عَنْ أبِي عَمْرٍو فِيهِما، فَرَوى النَهْرَوانِيُّ وبَكْرُ بْنُ شاذانَ عَنْ زَيْدٍ بْنِ فَرَحٍ عَنِ الدُورِيِّ بِالغَيْبِ كَذَلِكَ، وهي رِوايَةُ عَبْدِ الوارِثِ والعَبّاسِ عَنْ أبِي عَمْرٍو، وطَرِيقِ النَقّاشِ عَنْ أبِي الحارِثِ عَنِ السُوسِيِّ. ورَوى أبُو العَبّاسِ المَهْدَوِيُّ مِن طَرِيقِ ابْنِ مُجاهِدٍ عَنْ أبِي الزَعْراءِ عَنِ الدُورِيِّ التَخْيِيرَ بَيْنَ الغَيْبِ والخِطابِ عَلى ذَلِكَ أكْثَرُ أصْحابِ اليَزِيدِيِّ عَنْهُ، وكُلُّهم نَصَّ عَنْهُ أبِي عَمْرٍو أنَّهُ قالَ: ما أُبالِي أبِالتاءِ أمْ بِالياءِ قَرَأْتُهُما، إلّا أنَّ أبا حَمْدُونَ وأبا عَبْدِ الرَحْمَنِ قالا عَنْهُ وكانَ أبُو عَمْرٍو يَخْتارُ التاءَ.
(قُلْتُ): والوَجْهانِ صَحِيحانِ ورَدا مِن طَرِيقِ المَشارِقَةِ، والمَغارِبَةِ قَرَأْتُ بِهِما مِنَ الطَرِيقَيْنِ إلّا أنَّ الخِطابَ أكْثَرُ وأشْهَرُ، وعَلَيْهِ الجُمْهُورُ مِن أهْلِ الأداءِ، وبِذَلِكَ قَرَأ الباقُونَ.
وَتَقَدَّمَ (p-٢٤٢)اخْتِلافُهم في ﴿ها أنْتُمْ﴾ [آل عمران: ٦٦] مِن بابِ الهَمْزِ المُفْرَدِ.

3:84
قُلۡ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ ٨٤
Say, "We have believed in Allāh and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants [al-Asbāṭ], and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."
3:85
وَمَن يَبۡتَغِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ دِينٗا فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡهُ وَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ ٨٥
And whoever desires other than Islām as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
3:86
كَيۡفَ يَهۡدِي ٱللَّهُ قَوۡمٗا كَفَرُواْ بَعۡدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمۡ وَشَهِدُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقّٞ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٨٦
How shall Allāh guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.
3:87
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمۡ أَنَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ لَعۡنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِينَ ٨٧
Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allāh and the angels and the people, all together,
3:88
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ ٨٨
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved,
3:89
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصۡلَحُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ ٨٩
Except for those who repent after that1 and correct themselves. For indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

3:90
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بَعۡدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمۡ ثُمَّ ٱزۡدَادُواْ كُفۡرٗا لَّن تُقۡبَلَ تَوۡبَتُهُمۡ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٩٠
Indeed, those who disbelieve [i.e., reject the message] after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.
3:91
