بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Az-Zumar 39:1

تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ ١
The revelation of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Commentary on 39:1
تفسير سورة الزمر وهي مكية .
قال النسائي : حدثنا محمد بن النضر بن مساور ، حدثنا حماد ، عن مروان أبي لبابة ، عن عائشة - رضي الله عنها - قالت : كان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يصوم حتى نقول : ما يريد أن يفطر . ويفطر حتى نقول : ما يريد أن يصوم . وكان يقرأ في كل ليلة بني إسرائيل والزمر .
يخبر تعالى أن تنزيل هذا الكتاب - وهو القرآن العظيم - من عنده ، تبارك وتعالى ، فهو الحق الذي لا مرية فيه ولا شك ، كما قال تعالى : ( وإنه لتنزيل رب العالمين . نزل به الروح الأمين . على قلبك لتكون من المنذرين . بلسان عربي مبين ) [ الشعراء : 192 - 195 ] .
وقال : ( وإنه لكتاب عزيز لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه تنزيل من حكيم حميد ) [ فصلت : 42 ، 41 ] . وقال هاهنا : ( تنزيل الكتاب من الله العزيز ) أي : المنيع الجناب ، ( الحكيم ) أي : في أقواله وأفعاله ، وشرعه ، وقدره .

38:84
قَالَ فَٱلۡحَقُّ وَٱلۡحَقَّ أَقُولُ ٨٤
[Allāh] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say -
38:85
لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ ٨٥
[That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together."
38:86
قُلۡ مَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٖ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَكَلِّفِينَ ٨٦
Say, [O Muḥammad], "I do not ask you for it [i.e., the Qur’ān] any payment, and I am not of the pretentious.
38:87
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٨٧
It is but a reminder to the worlds.
38:88
وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُۥ بَعۡدَ حِينِۭ ٨٨
And you will surely know [the truth of] its information after a time."

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
39:1
تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ ١
The revelation of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
39:2
إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَٱعۡبُدِ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصٗا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ ٢
Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book, [O Muḥammad], in truth. So worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
39:3
أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلۡخَالِصُۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مَا نَعۡبُدُهُمۡ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلۡفَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فِي مَا هُمۡ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي مَنۡ هُوَ كَٰذِبٞ كَفَّارٞ ٣
Unquestionably, for Allāh is the pure religion.1 And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allāh in position." Indeed, Allāh will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allāh does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.

39:4
لَّوۡ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدٗا لَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ مِمَّا يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ ٱلۡقَهَّارُ ٤
If Allāh had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allāh, the One, the Prevailing.1

39:5
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيۡلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيۡلِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمًّىۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ ٥
He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.1
