۞ وَإِذَا صُرِفَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تِلۡقَآءَ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا مَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٧
And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."

Commentary on 7:47
﴿وَإِذَا صُرِفَتۡ أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ تِلۡقَاۤءَ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا مَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ٤٧﴾ - تفسير
٢٧٨٠٧- عن عبد الله بن عباس -من طريق الضحاك- قال: إنّ أصحاب الأعراف إذا نظروا إلى أهل النار وعرفوهم قالوا: ﴿ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين﴾[[أخرجه ابن جرير ١٠/٢٢٨.]]. (ز)
٢٧٨٠٨- عن عكرمة مولى ابن عباس -من طريق أبي مكين، عن أخيه- في قوله: ﴿وإذا صُرفت أبصارُهُم تِلقاء أصحاب النار﴾، قال: تُجَرَّدُ وجوهُهم للنار، فإذا رأوا أهل الجنةِ ذهَبَ ذلك عنهم[[أخرجه ابن جرير١٠/٢٢٨، وابن أبي حاتم ٥/١٤٨٨ (٨٥١٨). وعزاه السيوطي إلى ابن أبي شيبة، وابن المنذر.]]. (٦/٤١٠)
٢٧٨٠٩- عن أبي مجلز لاحق بن حميد، ﴿وإذا صُرفت أبصارُهُم﴾ قال: إذا صُرفت أبصارُ أهل الجنةِ تلقاء أصحاب النارِ ﴿قالوا ربَّنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمينَ﴾[[عزاه السيوطي إلى عبد بن حُمَيدٍ.]]. (٦/٤١١)
٢٧٨١٠- عن إسماعيل السُّدِّيّ -من طريق أسباط- قال: وإذا مرُّوا بهم -يعني: بأصحاب الأعراف- بزُمْرَةٍ يُذْهَب بها إلى النار قالوا: ﴿ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين﴾[[أخرجه ابن جرير ١٠/٢٢٨.]]٢٥٢٦. (٦/٤١٠)
٢٥٢٦ لم يذكر ابنُ جرير (١٠/٢٢٧-٢٢٨) غير هذا القول، وقول ابن عباس، وقول عكرمة، وقول عبد الرحمن بن زيد بن أسلم.
٢٧٨١١- قال مقاتل بن سليمان: ثم قال: ﴿وإذا صرفت أبصارهم﴾ يعني: قلبت وجوههم ﴿تلقاء أصحاب النار﴾ يقول: وإذا نظر أصحاب الأعراف ِقَبل أهل النار ﴿قالوا ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين﴾ يعني: مع المشركين في النار[[تفسير مقاتل بن سليمان ٢/٣٩.]]. (ز)
٢٧٨١٢- عن عبد الرحمن بن زيد بن أسلم -من طريق ابن وهب- في قوله: ﴿وإذا صُرفت أبصارُهُم تِلقاء أصحاب النارِ﴾ فرأوا وُجُوهَهم مُسْوَدَّةً، وأعينهم مُزْرَقَّةً ﴿قالُوا ربَّنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمينَ﴾[[أخرجه ابن جرير١٠/٢٢٨، وابن أبي حاتم ٥/١٤٨٨ (٨٥١٩). وعزاه السيوطي إلى أبي الشيخ.]]. (٦/٤١١)

7:44
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدۡ وَجَدۡنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقّٗا فَهَلۡ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمۡ حَقّٗاۖ قَالُواْ نَعَمۡۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡ أَن لَّعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٤
And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allāh shall be upon the wrongdoers
7:45
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبۡغُونَهَا عِوَجٗا وَهُم بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ ٤٥
Who averted [people] from the way of Allāh and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers."
7:46
وَبَيۡنَهُمَا حِجَابٞۚ وَعَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡرَافِ رِجَالٞ يَعۡرِفُونَ كُلَّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمۡۚ وَنَادَوۡاْ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ لَمۡ يَدۡخُلُوهَا وَهُمۡ يَطۡمَعُونَ ٤٦
And between them will be a partition [i.e., wall], and on [its] elevations are men1 who recognize all2 by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.
7:47
۞ وَإِذَا صُرِفَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تِلۡقَآءَ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا مَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٧
And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."
7:48
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَعۡرَافِ رِجَالٗا يَعۡرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمۡ قَالُواْ مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنكُمۡ جَمۡعُكُمۡ وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ٤٨
And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering1 and [the fact] that you were arrogant."

7:49
أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقۡسَمۡتُمۡ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِرَحۡمَةٍۚ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ تَحۡزَنُونَ ٤٩
[Allāh will say], "Are these1 the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allāh would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O people of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve."

- The humble believers who are now in Paradise. Another interpretation regards them as the people on the elevated partition. ↩
7:50
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ أَنۡ أَفِيضُواْ عَلَيۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَآءِ أَوۡ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٥٠
And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allāh has provided you." They will say, "Indeed, Allāh has forbidden them both to the disbelievers
7:51
ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمۡ لَهۡوٗا وَلَعِبٗا وَغَرَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰهُمۡ كَمَا نَسُواْ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِهِمۡ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجۡحَدُونَ ٥١
Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.
