Ar-Ra'd 13:22

وَٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ سِرّٗا وَعَلَانِيَةٗ وَيَدۡرَءُونَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عُقۡبَى ٱلدَّارِ ٢٢
And those who are patient, seeking the face [i.e., acceptance] of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home1 -

Commentary on 13:22
(والذين صبروا) قيل مستأنف وقيل معطوف على ما قبله والتعبير عنه بلفظ الماضي للتنبيه على أنه ينبغي تحققه والمراد بالصبر الصبر على الإتيان بما أمر الله به واجتناب ما نهى عنه. وقيل على الرزايا والمصائب، وقيل عن الشهوات والمعاصي والأولى حمله على العموم (ابتغاء وجه ربهم) أي ثوابه ورضاه معناه أن يكون خالصاً له لا شائبة فيه لغيره كأن يصبر ليقال ما أكمل صبره وأشد قوته على تحمل النوازل أو لأجل أن لا يعاب على الجزع أو لأجل أن لا يشمت به الأعداء.
(وأقاموا الصلاة) أى فعلوها في أوقاتها على ما شرعه الله سبحانه في أذكارها وأركانها مع الخشوع والإخلاص والمراد بها الصلوات المفروضة وقيل أعم من ذلك (وأنفقوا) في الطاعة (مما رزقناهم) أي بعضه (سراً وعلانية) المراد بالسر صدقة النفل والعلانية صدقة الفرض، وقيل السر لمن لم يعرف بالمال ولا يتهم بترك الزكاة والعلانية لمن كان يعرف بالمال أو يتهم بترك الزكاة والحمل على العموم أولى.
(ويدرؤون بالحسنة السيئة) أي يدفعون سيئة من أساء إليهم بالإحسان إليه كما في قوله تعالى ادفع بالتي هي أحسن، أو يدفعون بالعمل الصالح السيء فيمحوه أو يدفعون الشر بالخير أو المنكر بالمعروف أو الظلم بالعفو أو الذنب بالتوبة أو الحرمان بالإعطاء أو القطع بالوصل أو الهرب بالإنابة ولا مانع من حمل الآية على جميع هذه الأمور.
(أولئك) الموصوفون بالصفات المتقدمة (لهم عقبى الدار) العقبى مصدر كالعاقبة والإضافة على معنى في، أي العقبى المحمودة فيها قال الخطيب العقبى الانتهاء الذي يؤدي إليه الابتداء من خير أو شر، والمراد بالدار الدنيا وعقباها الجنة، وقيل المراد دار الآخرة وعقباها الجنة للمطيعين والنار للعصاة.

13:19
۞ أَفَمَن يَعۡلَمُ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ كَمَنۡ هُوَ أَعۡمَىٰٓۚ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ ١٩
Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? They will only be reminded who are people of understanding -
13:20
ٱلَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهۡدِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَنقُضُونَ ٱلۡمِيثَٰقَ ٢٠
Those who fulfill the covenant of Allāh and do not break the contract,
13:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوٓءَ ٱلۡحِسَابِ ٢١
And those who join that which Allāh has ordered to be joined1 and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil of [their] account,

13:22

13:23
جَنَّٰتُ عَدۡنٖ يَدۡخُلُونَهَا وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنۡ ءَابَآئِهِمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجِهِمۡ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمۡۖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَدۡخُلُونَ عَلَيۡهِم مِّن كُلِّ بَابٖ ٢٣
Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],
13:24
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُم بِمَا صَبَرۡتُمۡۚ فَنِعۡمَ عُقۡبَى ٱلدَّارِ ٢٤
"Peace [i.e., security] be upon you for what you patiently endured." And excellent is the final home.
13:25
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقۡطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعۡنَةُ وَلَهُمۡ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ ٢٥
But those who break the covenant of Allāh after contracting it and sever that which Allāh has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home.1

13:26
ٱللَّهُ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُۚ وَفَرِحُواْ بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَٰعٞ ٢٦
Allāh extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.
13:27
وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ مَنۡ أَنَابَ ٢٧
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, Allāh leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] -
13:28
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَطۡمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَا بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَئِنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ ٢٨
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allāh. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allāh hearts are assured."
