بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Saba 34:49

قُلۡ جَآءَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَمَا يُبۡدِئُ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ ٤٩
Say, "The truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin [anything] nor repeat [it]."1

Commentary on 34:49
وقوله : ( قل جاء الحق وما يبدئ الباطل وما يعيد ) أي : جاء الحق من الله والشرع العظيم ، وذهب الباطل وزهق واضمحل ، كقوله : ( بل نقذف بالحق على الباطل فيدمغه ) [ فإذا هو زاهق ] ) [ الأنبياء : 18 ] ، ولهذا لما دخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم المسجد الحرام يوم الفتح ، ووجد تلك الأصنام منصوبة حول الكعبة ، جعل يطعن الصنم بسية قوسه ، ويقرأ : ( وقل جاء الحق وزهق الباطل إن الباطل كان زهوقا ) ، ( قل جاء الحق وما يبدئ الباطل وما يعيد ) . رواه البخاري ومسلم والترمذي والنسائي وحده عند هذه الآية ، كلهم من حديث الثوري ، عن ابن أبي نجيح ، عن مجاهد ، عن أبي معمر عبد الله بن سخبرة ، عن ابن مسعود ، به .
أي : لم يبق للباطل مقالة ولا رياسة ولا كلمة .
وزعم قتادة والسدي : أن المراد بالباطل هاهنا إبليس ، إنه لا يخلق أحدا ولا يعيده ، ولا يقدر على ذلك . وهذا وإن كان حقا ولكن ليس هو المراد هاهنا والله أعلم .

34:49

34:50
قُلۡ إِن ضَلَلۡتُ فَإِنَّمَآ أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِيۖ وَإِنِ ٱهۡتَدَيۡتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِيٓ إِلَيَّ رَبِّيٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٞ قَرِيبٞ ٥٠
Say, "If I should err, I would only err against myself. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing and near."
34:51
وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذۡ فَزِعُواْ فَلَا فَوۡتَ وَأُخِذُواْ مِن مَّكَانٖ قَرِيبٖ ٥١
And if you could see1 when they are terrified but there is no escape, and they will be seized from a place nearby.

34:52
وَقَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلتَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ ٥٢
And they will [then] say, "We believe in it!" But how for them will be the taking1 [of faith] from a place far away?2
34:53
وَقَدۡ كَفَرُواْ بِهِۦ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَيَقۡذِفُونَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ ٥٣
And they had already disbelieved in it before and would assault1 the unseen from a place far away.2
34:54
وَحِيلَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَبَيۡنَ مَا يَشۡتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشۡيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبۡلُۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ فِي شَكّٖ مُّرِيبِۭ ٥٤
And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire,1 as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting doubt [i.e., denial].

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
35:1
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُوْلِيٓ أَجۡنِحَةٖ مَّثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَۚ يَزِيدُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِ مَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ ١
[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.
35:2
مَّا يَفۡتَحِ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحۡمَةٖ فَلَا مُمۡسِكَ لَهَاۖ وَمَا يُمۡسِكۡ فَلَا مُرۡسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٢
Whatever Allāh grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
35:3
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ هَلۡ مِنۡ خَٰلِقٍ غَيۡرُ ٱللَّهِ يَرۡزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤۡفَكُونَ ٣
O mankind, remember the favor of Allāh upon you. Is there any creator other than Allāh who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?
