وَمِمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَآ أُمَّةٞ يَهۡدُونَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعۡدِلُونَ ١٨١
And among those We created is a community1 which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice.

Commentary on 7:181
قوله تعالى: ﴿وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا أُمَّةٌ﴾ الآية. روى قتادة وابن جريج عن النبي ﷺ: "أنها هذه الأمة" [[أخرجه الطبري 9/ 135 من طرق جيدة عن ابن جريج وقتادة وهو مرسل، وذكره السيوطي في "الدر" 3/ 272، وقال: (أخرجه ابن جرير وابن المنذر، وأبو الشيخ عن ابن جريج، وأخرجه عبد بن حميد وابن جرير وابن المنذر عن قتادة) اهـ. وذكره الثعلبي 6/ 26 أ، والماوردي 2/ 283، عن قتادة وابن جريج.]].
وروي أيضًا أنه قال: "هذه لكم وقد أعطى الله قوم موسى مثلها" [[أخرجه الطبري 9/ 135 بسند جيد عن قتادة وهو مرسل وتابع لما سبق عن قتادة.]].
وقال الربيع بن أنس: (قرأ النبي ﷺ هذه الآية فقال: "إن من أمتي قومًا على الحق حتى ينزل عيسى بن مريم" [[أخرجه ابن أبي حاتم 5/ 1623، وهو مرسل، وأخرج البخاري رقم (7311) == كتاب التوحيد، باب: قول النبي ﷺ: "لا تزال طائفة من أمتي ظاهرين"، ومسلم رقم (1921) كتاب الإمارة، باب: فضل الرمي والحث عليه، عن المغيرة بن شعبة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا يزال من أمتي قوم ظاهرين على الناس حتى يأتيهم أمر الله" اهـ.]].
وقال ابن عباس: (يريد: أمة محمد ﷺ، وهم المهاجرون والأنصار والذين اتبعوهم بإحسان) [[ذكره الواحدي في "الوسيط" 2/ 277، والبغوي 3/ 308، وابن الجوزي 3/ 294، والرازي 15/ 72، والخازن 2/ 420، وذكره الثعلبي 6/ 26 أ، عن عطاء فقط، وأكثرهم على أنه في أمة محمد ﷺ.
وقال "النحاس" 1/ 653: (دل الله جل وعز بهذه الآية أنه لا تخلو الدنيا في وقت من الأوقات من داع يدعو إلى الحق) اهـ، وانظر: السمرقندي 1/ 585، ابن عطية 6/ 158، و"البحر" 4/ 430.]].
وقوله تعالى: ﴿يَهْدُونَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُونَ﴾. قد ذكرنا ما فيه عند قوله: ﴿وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَى أُمَّةٌ﴾ [الأعراف: 159].

7:179
وَلَقَدۡ ذَرَأۡنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ لَهُمۡ قُلُوبٞ لَّا يَفۡقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمۡ أَعۡيُنٞ لَّا يُبۡصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمۡ ءَاذَانٞ لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ بِهَآۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ بَلۡ هُمۡ أَضَلُّۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰفِلُونَ ١٧٩
And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray.1 It is they who are the heedless.

7:180
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ فَٱدۡعُوهُ بِهَاۖ وَذَرُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلۡحِدُونَ فِيٓ أَسۡمَٰٓئِهِۦۚ سَيُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ١٨٠
And to Allāh belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names.1 They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.

7:182
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُم مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ١٨٢
But those who deny Our signs - We will progressively lead them [to destruction]1 from where they do not know.

- Allāh will test them with one favor after another in spite of their disobedience, which only increases them in arrogance and sin. ↩
7:183
وَأُمۡلِي لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ كَيۡدِي مَتِينٌ ١٨٣
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.
7:184
أَوَلَمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُواْۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٌ ١٨٤
Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [i.e., Muḥammad (ﷺ)] no madness. He is not but a clear warner.
7:185
أَوَلَمۡ يَنظُرُواْ فِي مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ وَأَنۡ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقۡتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمۡۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ١٨٥
Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allāh has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement [i.e., message] hereafter will they believe?
7:186
مَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُۥۚ وَيَذَرُهُمۡ فِي طُغۡيَٰنِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ ١٨٦
Whoever Allāh sends astray - there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly.
7:187
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَاۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّيۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقۡتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَۚ ثَقُلَتۡ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَا تَأۡتِيكُمۡ إِلَّا بَغۡتَةٗۗ يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنۡهَاۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ١٨٧
They ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?1 Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily2 upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allāh, but most of the people do not know."
