The Elephant · Meccan · 5 ayahs

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ ١

Have you not considered, [O Muḥammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?¹

Mbela a anndah-aan nelaaɗo- no Alla waɗi Abraha e wondiiɓe mum jom en ñiiwo ndeɓe faalano yirbinde Kaaba.

أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ ٢

Did He not make their plan into misguidance?¹

Ko goongo Alla waɗii pehe mum en bonɗe yirbinde Kaaba ko pertuɗe, ɓe ndañaani faale mum en falaade yimɓe ɓe Kaaba ɓe ndañaani heen hay huunde.

وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ ٣

And He sent against them birds in flocks,

O neli e mum en ndiwri ndi ardi dente dente.

تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ ٤

Striking them with stones of hard clay,

Hondi werlooɓe kaaƴe loope joorɗe.

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ ٥

And He made them like eaten straw.¹

Alla waɗi ɓe hono kaakooli ɗi daabe ñaami ɗi njaɓɓi ɗi.
