Thus has He revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and to those before you - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Ko sugu oo wayahu woni ko Allah wahayiniri e maa an Muhammdu, e ɓen Annabaaɓe Makko adinooɓe ma, Allah Fooluɗo e yaggingol ayɓe Mun, Ñeeñuɗo e toppitannde Mun e tagu Mun.

42:4Page 483

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.1

The heavens almost break from above them,1 and the angels exalt [Allāh] with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Unquestionably, it is Allāh who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Hino jeyaa e mawngu Allah ngun, tawde kammuuli ɗin e no ɗi foti e waade e toowude, hiɗi eɓɓa seekorgol dow leydi ndin, hara Malaa'ika'en no laɓɓinira Joomi maɓɓe, yettugol Mo, yankinanoo Mo mawnina Mo, ɓe toroo Mo haforangol wonɓe ka leydi ɓen. Awa anndee pellet, ko Allah woni Haforanoowo kala tuubuɗo e jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen, Hinnotooɗo ɓe.

42:6Page 483

And those who take as allies other than Him - Allāh is [yet] Guardian over them; and you, [O Muḥammad], are not over them a manager -

Ɓen jogitiiɓe sanamuuji yiɗɓe reweteeɗi hara wanaa Allah, Allah na tommbii kuuɗe maɓɓe ɗen, O yoɓitoyay ɓe ɗe. An on, ko a yottinoowo tun.

42:7Page 483

And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’ān that you may warn the Mother of Cities [i.e., Makkah] and those around it1 and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.

Ko wano Men wahayinirnoo e ɓeya Annabaaɓe adinooɓe ma ɓen, Men wahayiniri e maaɗa an Nulaaɗo, janngeteende e haala aarabu, fii ko jertiniraa yimɓe Makka ɓen e aarabuuɓe wonɓe takko mayre ɓen, refti yimɓe ɓen fow. Yimɓe ɓen wonoyay pecce ɗiɗi: feccere goo, ka Aljanna; woni muumini'en, ndeya feccere, ka Yiite; woni heeferɓe ɓen.

42:8Page 483

And if Allāh willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills1 into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.

Or have they taken protectors [or allies] besides Him? But Allāh - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.

Hara non ko Allah woni Giɗo On tigiri, wanaa goɗɗo goo nafatah maa lorra. Ko Kanko woni wuurnitoowo maayɓe ɓen, fii hasbugol ɓe yoɓa ɓe, huunde ronkintaa Mo.

And in anything over which you disagree - its ruling is [to be referred] to Allāh. [Say], "That is Allāh, my Lord; upon Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back."1

[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him,1 and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.2

Ko Allah tagi kammuuli ɗin e leydi ndin, no ɗi anndiranooka. O waɗirani on e pittaali mon ɗin genndooɓe, O waɗani on e gelooɗi ɗin e na'i ɗin e dammi ɗin nooneeji, no ɗi ɗuuɗira fii mon. To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is, of all things, Knowing.

Ko Kanko tun heerori soktirɗe ngaluuji kammuuli ɗin e leydi ndin. He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allāh is that to which you invite them. Allāh chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].

O sar'inanii on e diina kan, sugu ko O yamirnoo kon Nuuhu yottingol gollitiri, e kon ko Men wahayini e maaɗa, an Nulaaɗo. And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word1 that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.

So to that [religion of Allāh] invite, [O Muḥammad],1 and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their inclinations but say, "I have believed in what Allāh has revealed of scripture [i.e., the Qur’ān], and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allāh is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds.2 There is no [need for] argument between us and you.3 Allāh will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination."

And those who argue concerning Allāh after He has been responded to1 - their argument is invalid with their Lord, and upon them is [His] wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.

It is Allāh who has sent down the Book in truth and [also] the balance [i.e., justice]. And what will make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near.

Hino hasii hara Darngal, ngal ɓee fennata fii mun ngal, ko ko ɓadii. Hino anndaa non, wonnde kala ko arata, ko ko hewti.

Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it,1 but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error.

Ɓe gomɗinaa ɓen Darngal, hino ɗaɓɓa yaccingol fii maggal; tawde ɓe gomɗinaa fii hasboore wanaa warjeede wanaa fii lepte. Allāh is Subtle1 with His servants; He gives provision to whom He wills. And He is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

Allah ko newaniiɗo jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen.

Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter - We increase for him in his harvest [i.e., reward]. And whoever desires the harvest [i.e., benefits] of this world - We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.

Kala tawɗo ko baraaje ndun laakara o faaliraa golle makko ɗen, Men sowanay mo mbarjaari makko ndin; moƴƴere kala, sappo yeru mun, haa hewta cowalle teemeɗɗe jeeɗiɗi, haa ɓura ɗon ko ɗuuɗi. Or have they partners [i.e., other deities] who have ordained for them a religion to which Allāh has not consented? But if not for the decisive word,1 it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.

Kaa hara kafidaaɗi e Alalh hino woodani ɓee sirkooɓe, sar'inanɗi ɓe e diina kan, kon ko Allah duŋaaki fi mun: harmingol ko dagii, maa dagingol ko harmi? 42:22Page 485

You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will [certainly] befall them. And those who have believed and done righteous deeds will be in lush regions of the gardens [in Paradise] having whatever they will in the presence of their Lord. That is what is the great bounty.

It is that of which Allāh gives good tidings to His servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, [O Muḥammad], "I do not ask you for it [i.e., this message] any payment [but] only good will through [i.e., due to] kinship." And whoever commits a good deed - We will increase for him good therein. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Appreciative.1

Ko ngon welo-welo mawngo, woni ko Allah wewlinirta jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen, e junngo Nulaaɓe Makko on; ɓen jeyaaɓe gomɗimɓe Allah e Nulaaɓe Makko ɓen, ɓe golli golle moƴƴe. 42:24Page 486

Or do they say, "He has invented about Allāh a lie"? But if Allāh willed, He could seal over your heart.1 And Allāh eliminates falsehood and establishes the truth by His words. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

Hini jeyaa e ko sirkooɓe ɓen aaƴii, wonnde Muhammadu (yo o his) fefindi ndee Alqur'aanaare, o dammbi nde e Joomi makko. Nde tawnoo non, wanaa non woniri, ɗum tinndinii wonnde Annabiijo on (yo o his) ko wahayu Joomi makko o wonndi e mun. Pellet le, ko O Annduɗo ko woni e ɓerɗe jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen. Huunde suuɗaaki Mo e mum.

42:25Page 486

And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds, and He knows what you do.

Ko Kanko Allah woni jaɓoowo tuubuubuyee jeyaaɓe Makko yedduɓe ɓen, si ɓe ruttike e Makko, O yawtana ɓe bonɗi ɗi ɓe faggitii ɗin, e hoore Himo anndi kala ko huuwoton. Huunde suuɗaaki Mo e golle mon ɗen. Ma O yoɓitoy on ɗe.

42:26Page 486

And He answers [the supplication of] those who have believed and done righteous deeds and increases [for] them from His bounty. But the disbelievers will have a severe punishment.

Himo jaabina toraare gomɗimɓe Allah e Nulaaɗo Mun on, ɓe golli golle moƴƴe, O ɓeydana ɓe e ko ɓe lamndaaki mo kon, ka ɓural Makko. Yedduɓe Allah e Nulaaɗo Mun ɓen non, hino woodani ɓe lepte saɗtuɗe, habbitiiɗe ɓe Ñalnde Darngal.

42:27Page 486

And if Allāh had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Aware and Seeing.

Si tawno Allah yaññanno jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen fow arsike, ko pellet, ɓe bewirayno tooñe ka hoore leydi; kono Himo jippinira arsike on, emmbere ko O muuyi yaññude O ɓillina. Pellet, ko O humpitiiɗo fii jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen, Reenuɗo ɓe. O okkiray ñeñƴal Makko ngal, O ɓillinira ngal kadi.

42:28Page 486

And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.

Ko Kanko woni jippinoowo ndiyam ɗam e jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen, ɓaawo ɓe taƴaade fii majjam, O saaka ɗam ndiyam, ɗam fuɗina leydi ndin. Ko Kanko kadi woni Giɗo heftuɗo fii maɓɓe, Yettiniiɗo e kala fiyaakyu.

42:29Page 486

And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and earth and what He has dispersed throughout them of creatures. And He, for gathering them when He wills, is competent.

Hino jeyaa e maandeeji tindinayɗi e kattal e gootaagu Makko ngun: tagugol kammuuli ɗin e leydi ndin, e ɗin ruugayɗi haawniiɗi, ɗi O saakiti hakkunde majji. 42:30Page 486

And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.

Kala ko heɓi on, onon ɓee yimɓe, immorde e musiiba wonkiijii mon maa e jawle mon, ko sabu geddi ɗi juuɗe mon ɗen faggitii. Allah non, hino yaafoo ko ɗuuɗi e mun, hara O nanngitirtaa on ɗin.

42:31Page 486

And you will not cause failure [to Allāh]1 upon the earth. And you have not besides Allāh any protector or helper.

On wonaa hattanɓe laawagol lepte Joomi ɗen, si O faandanike on ɗe; On maraa kadi yawti Mo Kanko, woni giɗo hettoowo fii mon, wanaa ballo faabotooɗo on e lepte Makko ɗen, si O faandanii mon ɗe.

42:32Page 487

And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains.

Hino jeyaa e maandeeji tinndinayɗi e kattal e gootaagu Makko ngun: laaɗe dogayɗe ɗen ka maayo, toowirɗe wa pelle.

42:33Page 487

If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

Woni e ko jantaa koo, maandeeji ɓannginɗi kattal Allah ngal, wonannde kala muññotooɗo jarrabuyee, yettoowo neema Allah on e dow mun.

42:34Page 487

Or He could destroy them1 for what they earned; but He pardons much.

Si Mo yiɗi Kanko Allah, O yooliray ɗen laaɗe, wurtugol heenndu tiiɗundu e majje, sabu bakkaatu ko yimɓe ɓen faggitii kon. Himo yaafoo non, ko ɗuuɗi e bakkatuuji jeyaaɓe Makko ɓen.

42:35Page 487

And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape.

Tuma O halkirta laaɗe ɗen henndu ndun, wennjaynooɓe e Aayeeje Allah ɗen, fii bonnitugol ɗe, hiɓe wonnde ontuma, wonnde alaa no ɓe laawora e halkaare nden.

42:36Page 487

So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allāh is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely

Kala huunde nde hokkaɗon onon ɓee yimɓe, woni ko jaahu maa ɓiɗɗo, haray ko dakamme nguurndam aduna, ko ko fii mun lannata; neema duumotooɗo on, ko neema Aljanna on mo Allah marani gomɗimɓe Mo ɓen, ɓe gomɗini Nulaaɓe Makko ɓen, hara ko e Joomi maɓɓe tun, woni ɓe fawotoo e fiyaaku maɓɓe kala.

42:37Page 487

And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive,

Ɓen woɗɗitotooɓe e junuubi mawɗi ɗin e pankare ɗen, si wonii ɓe tikkanii fawñoriiɗo ɓe konngol maa kuugal, hara ɓe yaaforay ontigi e ɗum, sabu moƴƴere e maslaha ko woni e mun.

42:38Page 487

And those who have responded to their Lord and established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, and from what We have provided them, they spend,

And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they retaliate [in a just manner].1

And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allāh. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers.

Kala faalaaɗo yottaade, ko hakkee makko. Ko woni tun, hara ko yeru mun, ko aldaa e ɓeydugol maa fantingol.

And whoever retaliates after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame].

Kala non yottiiɗo, ko ɓen woni ɓe nanngitirtaake ko waɗi kon.

42:42Page 487

The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment.

Ka nanngitireede lepte fawii e mun, ko tooñooɓe yimɓe ɓen, hara hiɓe huuwa geddi e leydi ndin: ɓen ɗon, lepte muusuɗe hino woodani laakara.

42:43Page 487

And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of resolve.1

Muññiiɗo on kadi o yaafii tooñe ɗen, ko pellet, moƴƴere ngal muñal ɗon, yiltoto e makko wonndude e renndo ngon. Ɗum ko fiyaaku yettiniiɗo, ko jom-geɓal mawngal tun, woni ko hawrondirta e ɗum.

42:44Page 487

And he whom Allāh sends astray - for him there is no protector beyond Him. And you will see the wrongdoers, when they see the punishment, saying, "Is there for return [to the former world] any way?"

Kala mo Allah hoyni gaa e peewal haa O majjini ontigi e goonga kan, haray giɗo goo alanaa mo, mo no heftana mo fiyakuuji makko ɗin. A tinay tooñirnooɓe ko'e mun ɓen geddi e keeferaaku, tuma ɓe yi'i lepte ɗen Ñalnde Darngal, hiɓe yeloo wi'a: hara laawol ruttorde aduna no woodi, men tuubana Allah?

42:45Page 488

And you will see them being exposed to it [i.e., the Fire], humbled from humiliation, looking from [behind] a covert glance. And those who had believed will say, "Indeed, the [true] losers are the ones who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, the wrongdoers are in an enduring punishment."

A tinay kadi an Nulaaɗo, ɓee tooñuɓe hino weeɓitee e Yiite ngen, hara ko ɓe hoynaaɓe jaasinaa, hiɓe ndaarira yimɓe ɓen, lepaarol, hakkee ko ɓe huli nge. Gomɗimɓe ɓen wi'ay ontuma: ko woni hayruɓe ɓen tigiri, ko hayrimɓe ko'e mun ɓen e ɓeynguureji mun ɗin Ñalnde Darngal, sabu ko ɓe hawri kon e lepte Allah ɗen. Awa anndee pellet, tooñirɓe ko'e mun ɓen geddi e keeferaaku, ɓe wonii e lepte duumiiɗe poomaa.

42:46Page 488

And there will not be for them any allies to aid them other than Allāh. And whoever Allāh sends astray - for him there is no way.

Yiɗɓe alanaa ɓe,ko wallitoo ɓe daɗugol lepte Allah ɗen,Ñalnde Darngal.Kala non mo Allah majjini e goonga kan, haray o heɓataa ko tinndina mo e maggal, haa poomaa.

42:47Page 488

Respond to your Lord before a Day comes from Allāh of which there is no repelling. No refuge will you have that Day, nor for you will there be any denial.1

Onon ɓee yimɓe, nootee Joomi mon, tinnorgol e ko O yamiri kon, woɗɗitoo e ko O haɗi kon, acca kadi caate, ado Ñalaande Darngal nden arde on, nde tawata ruttoowo alanaa nde. Nden ñalnde, fattorde woo alanaa on, yeddugol junuubi mon ɗin ko faggita ka kadi alanaa ton.

42:48Page 488

But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.

To Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what He wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males.

Or He makes them [both] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent.

Ko Allah heeranii laamagol kammuuli ɗin e leydi ndin. Himo tagira worɓe e rewɓe maa ko wanaa ɗum, no O haajiri. Himo yeɗa mo O muuyani ɓiɗɓe rewɓe, O ɗala ontigi ɓiɗɓe worɓe, ko non kadi O yeɗirta mo O muuyani ɓiɗɓe worɓe, O ɗali mo ɓiɗɓe rewɓe, maa O waɗana mo O muuyani kadi ɓiɗɓe e worɓe, O waɗa mo O muuyani wonnde mo jibintaa. Pellet, Himo anndi ko fewndii e ko saatii. Ko ɗum woni timmugol ganndal e ñeñƴal Makko. Huunde wirnanaaki Mo. Wanaa goɗɗum kadi rontinta Mo.

42:51Page 488

And it is not for any human being that Allāh should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition or that He sends a messenger [i.e., angel] to reveal, by His permission, what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High and Wise.

Sellantaa neɗɗanke, nde Allah yewtata, si wanaa hara ko wahayu maa ko nanndi, maa hara ko no o nanirta yewtere Makko nden, tawa o sutaaki mo, maa O immina Malaa'ikaajo e makko, wano Jibiriilu, on wahayina e neɗɗanke Nulaaɗo on, ko Allah duŋanii mo kon. Pellet, Kanko Allah, ko O Toowuɗo e Jaati e Sifaaji Makko, Ñeeñuɗo e tagu e kattal e sari'a Makko on.

42:52Page 489

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command [i.e., the Qur’ān]. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you guide to a straight path -

Ko wano Men wahayinirnoo non e Annabaaɓe adinooɓe ma ɓen, Men wahayiniri Alqur'aana e maaɗa, an Nulaaɗo, e yamiroore Amen. A anndaano ko woni Defte jippiiɗe ɗen e ɓeya Nulaaɓe, a anndaano kadi ko woni gomɗinal; si ko woni, Men jippinin ndee Alqur'aanaare, ko nde ndayginnde, ndaygu ngu Men fewnirta mo Men muuyani e jeyaaɓe Amen ɓen. Pellet, ko a fewnoowo yimɓe ɓen, e laawol focciingol, woni diina lislaamu kan.

42:53Page 489

The path of Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Unquestionably, to Allāh do [all] matters evolve [i.e., return].
