Ghafir 40:80–85
40:80Page 476
وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَلِتَبۡلُغُواْ عَلَيۡهَا حَاجَةٗ فِي صُدُورِكُمۡ وَعَلَيۡهَا وَعَلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ تُحۡمَلُونَ ٨٠
And for you therein are [other] benefits and that you may realize upon them a need which is in your breasts;1 and upon them and upon ships you are carried.
Ustedes reciben diferentes beneficios de estas creaciones, así como de los barcos y otros medios de transporte que cambian con el tiempo. Pueden emplearlos para satisfacer cualquier necesidad que tengan. Y la más evidente de estas necesidades es el transporte a través de la tierra y del mar.
40:81Page 476
وَيُرِيكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ فَأَيَّ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ ٨١
And He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allāh do you deny?
Al-lah les muestra muchos de Sus milagros que prueban Su poder y unicidad. Entonces, ¿cuál de Sus milagros no reconocen, después de que se ha establecido que provienen de Al‑lah?
40:82Page 476
أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَكۡثَرَ مِنۡهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةٗ وَءَاثَارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ٨٢
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
¿Acaso los que rechazan los milagros de Al-lah no viajan por la Tierra y reflexionan sobre cuál fue el resultado de las naciones anteriores que también los rechazaron? Esas naciones eran más ricas, más fuertes y más influyentes que los quraishitas, pero sus acciones y fortaleza no les sirvieron de nada cuando llegó el castigo destructivo de Al-lah.
40:83Page 476
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرِحُواْ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ٨٣
And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
Cuando sus mensajeros les trajeron pruebas claras y milagros poderosos, los negaron y se vanagloriaron con el conocimiento que tenían, contrario a lo que sus mensajeros les habían comunicado. Así que el mismo castigo del que se burlaban cuando sus mensajeros les advertían, cayó sobre ellos.
40:84Page 476
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡاْ بَأۡسَنَا قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَحۡدَهُۥ وَكَفَرۡنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِۦ مُشۡرِكِينَ ٨٤
And when they saw Our punishment, they said, "We believe in Allāh alone and disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him."
Entonces, al ver Mi castigo, comenzaron a reconocer, en un momento en que reconocer a Al-lah no los podía beneficiar. Decían: “Creemos solo en Al-lah, y rechazamos a todos los copartícipes e ídolos que adorábamos en lugar de Él”.
40:85Page 476
فَلَمۡ يَكُ يَنفَعُهُمۡ إِيمَٰنُهُمۡ لَمَّا رَأَوۡاْ بَأۡسَنَاۖ سُنَّتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِي قَدۡ خَلَتۡ فِي عِبَادِهِۦۖ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ ٨٥
But never did their faith benefit them once they saw Our punishment. [It is] the established way of Allāh which has preceded among His servants. And the disbelievers thereupon lost [all].
Sin embargo, al ver el castigo que descendía sobre ellos, creer no los benefició. Este es el modo en que Al-lah ha sido consecuente con Sus siervos: que de nada les sirvió creer al ver venir el castigo. Los incrédulos se condenaron por no creer en los profetas cuando les transmitían el mensaje, porque en el momento en que comienza a descender el castigo, ya no sirve de nada creer.
